SMILIES/BALLS

Smartass  Bonus Ball
Tongue  Score Ball, Free to use Ball , play it on a game that you think both teams will score in !
Doh  Gamball,

New Scoring System

Incorrect Result =  0 point
Incorrect Result (Bonus Ball) = -3 * Changed from -2
Incorrect Result (Gamball) = -3
[/color]
Score Ball = 1 added Point if both teams score.  !

Correct Result = +2 points
Correct Result (Bonus Ball) = +3
Correct Result (Gamball) = +5  * Changed from +4
Correct Score = + 4 points
Correct Score (Bonus Ball) = +6
Correct Score (Gamball) = +10   * Changed from +8

As you can see the incorrect scoring has not really changed apart from a wrong Bonus this will be now scored at -3 instead of -2 the reason for this are the gains on the new Gamball scoring you will make (see below) in the hope this encourages you to use it most if not all of the time.

So to the Gamball, the use of the Gamball was tactically not used in some cases last season as the gains we not considered to great compared to the losses, it's for this reason we have decided to change the scoring, The loss will stay the same at -3 but the reward will be a correct result will go up by one from 4 to 5 points and the correct score will go up by 2 from 8 to 10 points !!!
Just a reminder you DO NOT have to play the Gamball if you dont want too, the score will then be marked normal.  Thumb up

Again the third from bottom of the premiership will play off against the third in the table from the Championship to keep even more excitement going, they will have to predict through all the Playoffs and the winner obviously takes their place in the Premier League the following season   Thumb up

Beefy, Bomber, Zinman & SCO   Thumb up

If you do not predict,...........
If in your league everyone scores above zero you will receive Zero points,
However if in your league the person with the lowest score is below Zero (eg -4) you will score -5 and receive your first strike, Remember 3 strikes and you're out.

All scores must be in before MIDDAY SATURDAY,(For The Early Kick Off If Applicable) If the early kick off is missed the rest of your predictions must reach us by 2.45pm or none will be counted.

Anything later unless it is a Major error will NOT be corrected. It is as much your responsibility to check your scores as much as it is ours to try and score them correctly.

  Prediction League Results/Tables Week 18
Posted by: bomberbrown1968 - 14-01-2020, 23:16 - Forum: West Bromwich Albion - Replies (9)

Player Pts CS CR GB BB SB
SC Owl 25 2 6 5 3 1
Zinman 17 2 3 NP 6 1
Bomber 15 3 2 -3 3 1
Beefy 10 2 4 -3 -3 0
A.A.A. 10 0 4 NP 3 1
Sanjay 9 0 4 5 -3 1
B.B.B. 8 0 3 NP 3 1
Themaclad 7 2 2 -3 -3 1
Derby 6 0 4 -3 3 0

So after the Xmas break, the PL came back with some decent scoring, especially for the Committee members, totaling over 100 points for the week. In 1st place is SCO with a fine 25 points, one of two players to get a CR on the Gamball, he was able to back that up by scoring on 8 of the 10 games and scored points on all of his balls!! A bit back in 2nd spot is Zinman on 17 points who played his Bonus and Scoreball on the same game and came away with a total 7 points from that one game!!

Third place belongs to Bomber on 15 points, he got a weeks high 3 CS but only backed this up with a weeks low 2 CRs which held him back. In joint 4th spot this week is the final member of the committee Beefy and AAA on 10 points. Beefy scored on a fine 6 games out of 10 but missed on every one of his balls to keep him in the middle of the pack!! AAA suffered from being one of 4 players to not register a CS.

Sanjay finds himself in 6th spot on 9 points, mainly due to being the only other person along with SCO to get a CR on the Gamball. BBB is a further point behind in 7th place, his poor form continues and he only scored on a week’s low 3 games, luckily he didn’t play the Gamball and at least got a CR on the Bonus.

Our pre-Xmas league leader Themaclad is in 8th place on 7 points, despite scoring a CS on 2 games he missed on both the Gamball and Bonus Balls to nullify those correct predictions!! In last place this week is Derby on 6 points, no correct scores and a miss on the Gamball kept his score down in the end.

I think the table will see quite a few changes this week after this scoring, but I would imagine Beefy is still rooted to the bottom!!!

Cheers
SCO

Twerton 14pts 1CS 6CR 5GB -3BB 0SB
Snooty 13pts 0CS 4CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
BaggieOne 12pts 2CS 5CR -3GB 3BB 0SB
Joker 11pts 1CS 5CR -3GB 3BB 1SB
Lady Jane 11pts 0CS 3CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
Amelia 10 pts 0CS 5CR 0GB 0BB 0SB
MightyBrom 1pt 0CS 3CR -3GB -3BB 1SB
Stairs 0pts 0CS 3CR -3GB -3BB 0SB

First week back after our mid winter break and some pretty consistent scoring in the Championship - with 2 exceptions. Twerton suffered from a blip in the week before Christmas but got his title chase back up and running with yet another table topping performance. He was one of several players to benefit from a strong Sunday with 9 points from those 3 games including getting the Gamball result correct. Just 1 point further back is Snooty - no correct scores and only 4 correct results but it helps when they include both of his balls. Snooty has now scored in double figures in each of the last 5 weeks - this after scoring above 9 just once in the first 13 weeks! Much more of this and promotion may yet be within his grasp.

One further point behind is BaggieOne who was the only player to get more than 1 correct score, then locked together on 11 points are Joker and Lady Jane. They may have scored the same total but did so from very different routes. Joker got 5 correct results and one correct score while Lady Jane just got 3 results correct, all of them from the Sunday matches, but got a full set of scoring balls. Joker should feel suitably ashamed of being the only person not to predict Man City beating Villa.

Amelia's no ball policy cost her points this week as she did get the gamball result right but again she scored a respectable 10 points, just behind this week's leaders.

So the top 6 separated by just 4 points but then a big gap to this week's stragglers. MightyBrom's promotion bid suffered with him scoring just a single point - his 3 correct results were wiped out by losses on the Gamball and bonus but he did at least have a positive week thanks to his scoreball. Stairs wasn't so lucky and failed to register a single point to leave him cast adrift at the bottom of the overall table after finally showing signs of improvement prior to the break.

HTAFC Prediction League 2019/20 Matchday 25
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 14-01-2020, 21:26 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (14)

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score   Laugh
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points Badger

The random badger Badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."  Rolleyes
The joker  Laugh is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.

Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.

Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in. Wink
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.  Rolleyes

For the second Saturday in succession The Robins, playing at the Jonny Rocks Stadium put 3 goals past the opposition.

This was a far more comprehensive victory than the previous game against Oldham with The Robins again taking the lead early in the first half through loanee Max Sheaf.

Although well on top for the rest of the half Cheltenham were unable to extend their lead.
However, right from the re-start they kept up the pressure on Walsall and just three minutes in and they extended their lead through Connor Thomas. New recruit Alfie May added a third after 70 minutes to put the result beyond doubt.

Walsall pulled a goal back just 3 minutes later to the obvious disappointment of on loan goalkeeper Owen Evans who, in fairness, had very little to do but whom looked like a very sound temporary acquisition.

Only downside was that midfielder Ryan Broom went off apparently injured after only 15 minutes. Hopefully this was as a precaution only.

One final observation. The refereeing was just about the worst I have seen this season bringing, at times, howls of protest from both sets of fans particularly late on in the game.

Should have gone to specsavers. Doh

Exclamation Louie Barry !
Posted by: Beefy 1965 - 09-01-2020, 22:56 - Forum: West Bromwich Albion - Replies (2)

West Brom are threatening to sue Aston Villa over £3M Louie Barry transfer.

Albion are particularly unhappy at the role former academy chief Mark Harrison could have played in the deal.

He handed in his notice shortly after Barry rejected WBA’s contract offer.

And now the pair are set to be reunited at Villa after Harrison spoke openly about Barry in his first interview after moving across the Second City.

Albion are owed £235K in compensation by Barcelona for Barry, but are yet to be paid anything at all.

Now the La Liga champions are poised to turn a quick profit by selling him to Villa this month, which was perhaps their plan all along, working hand-in-hand with Aston Villa to secure Louie Barry on the advice of Mark Harrison.

MACS FORM RATING LAST 5 GAMES (MAX RATING 25)
Blackburn 2 Preston 4

Both sides slightly out of form in recent times no wins between them in 10 games, so looks a cast iron draw.

Our nearest and dearest away from home with mass away support even Rovers ticketing arrangements tred to spike that however we got around that so at least 5,500 will be rocking up to reduce the home clubs 190 million pound debt.
Rovers suffered a major blow when losing Bradley dack for the best part of 12 months with cruciate knee damage .
The return game at Deepdale so us 2 down before we went ale house to take the points in a 3-2 win, interesting selection problems for us will Sinclair start from the begining, Johnson seems to be closer to fitness plus some of thse who played last week may be considered plus those that were rested.

On a personal note this is the one that matters, when Uncle Jack arrived with his funny money those of us who lived in South Ribble had to put up with part time North Enders suddenly becoming Rovers supporters those were hellish times always nice to beat them,

Match Officials: Blackburn Rovers Away

Taking charge of his first Preston North End game of the season in Saturday’s derby with Blackburn Rovers is referee James Linington.

The Isle of Wight match official took charge of two PNE games last season, our August trip to Swansea City and the final game of the season away at Brentford.

He was also the man in charge of the game for our game with Cardiff City in December 2017, when Tom Clarke scored a late winner.

James took charge of three PNE games that season in all, the trio all away from home, with the games being the 2-1 win at Hull City back in September, the aforementioned game at the Cardiff City Stadium and the 1-0 win at Sheffield United in our final away game of last season.

This is also his first Rovers game of the season, having so far officiated 17 games, issuing 56 cautions and three red cards; his last game being Barnsley’s 3-1 FA Cup win at Crewe on Sunday.
Three seasons ago, the referee made his first visit ever to Deepdale for the clash with Wolves back in November and was then the referee in the away game at Derby County back in March.
The season before he was referee of the PNE game at Ashton Gate, when Greg Cunningham scored the winner against his former club and that was his third game in charge of PNE.

The other time he refereed North End was another game in the south of England, when the Lilywhites won 1-0 at Gillingham in the League One promotion season, courtesy of Paul Huntington’s goal in his first start of the season.

He will be assisted by James Wilson and Nick Barnard, with Ollie Yates acting as the fourth official.
