THE MATCH

SATURDAY 7TH DECEMBER 3:00PM KICK OFF

[Image: c8f0e1f02feea03b72811b4b50c0f4c0--britis...nesday.jpg] v [Image: mobile-image-3.png]

[b]LAST MATCH

Back to winning ways as we deservedly took all 3 points from our trip to Charlton. We started brightly and Nuhiu finished well only to be offside. But it wasn't long before we did have the lead as Fletcher scored with a good header. Fessi missed a sitter from a few yards and we were made to pay as Charlton went up the other end and scored via a deflection. We were still the better team but went in 1-1. We started the 2nd well but still couldn't find the 2nd goal and it seemed it was going to be one of those days until sub Murphy was brought down in the box and Fletcher scored from the spot. We sealed the game in injury time when Nuhiu scored with a point blank header.

THE MATCH

Back at home and we host Bentford. The Bees are coming off there biggest win in 25 years, 7-0 v Luton. The Bees still continue to perform well and currently stand 7th in the league. They have ex Leeds defender Janssen, and the likes of Watkins and Benrahma. There manager is Thomas Frank who is Danish and previously managed Brondby and Denmark U16, U17 & U19. We beat these last year 2-0 and a repeat performance would be ideal as we will probably need the points with our off field problems.

Loads of detail here about the EFL charges facing Sheffield Wednesday. Discussed it on the podcast we recorded today (out tomorrow) -
some in Championship circles think they could be hit with a 21-point deduction:

Found this on Twitter earlier.
Derby could be next...
Just a pity Villa got promoted as they did basically the same Angry

Sad news that Bob Willis a former fast bowler for Warwickshire and England has passed away aged just 70 years.

What cricket lovers will ever forget his 8 wickets against the Aussies in 1981 which turned the Test match on its head.

RIP Bob Peace dove Peace dove

  Respect

John Sheridan has just been on local radio saying that fans should show Anthony Gerrard some respect.
There are times when I struggle to get my breath.

Mr Sheridan, in my book respect is something that you earn. I dont respect you and I certainly will never respect Gerrard or show him any respect. Now, if either of you were to apologise for being total wankers and walk away from my football club then you might just earn my respect.
By your own admission, you said Gerrard was a stone overweight and he had been sent away doing an intensive fitness course, he has abused fans, he abused fans at previous clubs, he is a dirty player and cheat who should never have been brought anywhere near our club.

Please earn some respect from me and walk. We are 1 point clear of the bottom of the table. This is your team, your signings, your team formations, your so called tactics. I thought Gary Caldwell was the worst manager we ever had playing square pegs in round holes. Somehow you have managed to make him look a genius. In half a season you have made us serious relegation contenders with one of the biggest if not the biggest player budgets in this division, but in a press interview last week, you seriously ask us to give you more time to turn things around. You really are taking the pi55 big style.

Christmas is just around the corner, Santa doesn't need a sack to carry for what I would like, I just wish he would give it to you.
It looks like a local consortium is very close to taking over the club. Now that would be the best Christmas present I could ever wish for. I just hope to god you are not part of the package they take over.

If only The Robins had not suffered a second half collapse against Port Vale; look where the third round of the Cup would have taken us...

To the Etihad no less and a game against the mighty Citeh.

Of course we would not have won; probably got slaughtered there instead but:-

We would have earned much needed revenue perhaps enough to enable us to strengthen the team in January.

We have such a small squad and the injuries are beginning to pile up. Sick

Can anyone lend us a striker or two??? Whistle

HTAFC Prediction League 2019/20 Matchday 18
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 02-12-2019, 14:47 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (13)

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score   Laugh
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points Badger

The random badger Badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."  Rolleyes
The joker  Laugh is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.

Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.

Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in. Wink
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.  Rolleyes

SMILIES/BALLS

Smartass  Bonus Ball
Tongue  Score Ball, Free to use Ball , play it on a game that you think both teams will score in !
Doh  Gamball,

New Scoring System

Incorrect Result =  0 point
Incorrect Result (Bonus Ball) = -3 * Changed from -2
Incorrect Result (Gamball) = -3
[/color]
Score Ball = 1 added Point if both teams score.  !

Correct Result = +2 points
Correct Result (Bonus Ball) = +3
Correct Result (Gamball) = +5  * Changed from +4
Correct Score = + 4 points
Correct Score (Bonus Ball) = +6
Correct Score (Gamball) = +10   * Changed from +8

As you can see the incorrect scoring has not really changed apart from a wrong Bonus this will be now scored at -3 instead of -2 the reason for this are the gains on the new Gamball scoring you will make (see below) in the hope this encourages you to use it most if not all of the time.

So to the Gamball, the use of the Gamball was tactically not used in some cases last season as the gains we not considered to great compared to the losses, it's for this reason we have decided to change the scoring, The loss will stay the same at -3 but the reward will be a correct result will go up by one from 4 to 5 points and the correct score will go up by 2 from 8 to 10 points !!!
Just a reminder you DO NOT have to play the Gamball if you dont want too, the score will then be marked normal.  Thumb up

Again the third from bottom of the premiership will play off against the third in the table from the Championship to keep even more excitement going, they will have to predict through all the Playoffs and the winner obviously takes their place in the Premier League the following season   Thumb up

Beefy, Bomber, Zinman & SCO   Thumb up

If you do not predict,...........
If in your league everyone scores above zero you will receive Zero points,
However if in your league the person with the lowest score is below Zero (eg -4) you will score -5 and receive your first strike, Remember 3 strikes and you're out.

All scores must be in before MIDDAY SATURDAY,(For The Early Kick Off If Applicable) If the early kick off is missed the rest of your predictions must reach us by 2.45pm or none will be counted.

Man U 2 Villa 2 - Time to move for Pochettino?
Posted by: 0762 - 01-12-2019, 22:30 - Forum: Manchester United - Replies (2)

This time OGS rested his whole 1st team on Thursday v Astana and takes a beating in Kazakhstan with the youngest Euro Man U line up ever and then the fans endure another league match without a victory - the lack of improvement is starting to "wear thin" for a huge footie club like United!! Has the time come to move for Mauricio Pochetino and "buy out" his £12.5M clause/pay off with Spurs in order that he does indeed move to Old Trafford???? It could be the right move for United to make at this time!!

  VAR
Posted by: talkSAFT - 01-12-2019, 18:52 - Forum: West Bromwich Albion - Replies (3)

What a cracking match yesterday - Wales v Barbarians. But this was a friendly, and even the partisan Welsh crowd applauded BaaBaas tries - so why even bother with the VAR (or Rugby's TMO)? Crazy!

Football's ridiculous now with VAR, meaning you miss your Hawthorns Halt train with games finishing 2 hours after kick-off. If the Authorities do insist on it, though, I'd go a step further........
Within (say) 10 years Technology could replace Refs and Linos altogether with a Robot behind the TV, and instant decisions.

I'm looking forward to hearing (instead of "Who's the b*stard in the Black?") a rousing

"A-a-lexa, Get your T*ts out for the Lads"
