SMILIES/BALLS

Smartass  Bonus Ball
Tongue  Score Ball, Free to use Ball , play it on a game that you think both teams will score in !
Doh  Gamball,

New Scoring System

Incorrect Result =  0 point
Incorrect Result (Bonus Ball) = -3 * Changed from -2
Incorrect Result (Gamball) = -3
[/color]
Score Ball = 1 added Point if both teams score.  !

Correct Result = +2 points
Correct Result (Bonus Ball) = +3
Correct Result (Gamball) = +5  * Changed from +4
Correct Score = + 4 points
Correct Score (Bonus Ball) = +6
Correct Score (Gamball) = +10   * Changed from +8

As you can see the incorrect scoring has not really changed apart from a wrong Bonus this will be now scored at -3 instead of -2 the reason for this are the gains on the new Gamball scoring you will make (see below) in the hope this encourages you to use it most if not all of the time.

So to the Gamball, the use of the Gamball was tactically not used in some cases last season as the gains we not considered to great compared to the losses, it's for this reason we have decided to change the scoring, The loss will stay the same at -3 but the reward will be a correct result will go up by one from 4 to 5 points and the correct score will go up by 2 from 8 to 10 points !!!
Just a reminder you DO NOT have to play the Gamball if you dont want too, the score will then be marked normal.  Thumb up

Again the third from bottom of the premiership will play off against the third in the table from the Championship to keep even more excitement going, they will have to predict through all the Playoffs and the winner obviously takes their place in the Premier League the following season   Thumb up

Beefy, Bomber, Zinman & SCO   Thumb up

If you do not predict,...........
If in your league everyone scores above zero you will receive Zero points,
However if in your league the person with the lowest score is below Zero (eg -4) you will score -5 and receive your first strike, Remember 3 strikes and you're out.

All scores must be in before MIDDAY SATURDAY,(For The Early Kick Off If Applicable) If the early kick off is missed the rest of your predictions must reach us by 2.45pm or none will be counted.

Anything later unless it is a Major error will NOT be corrected. It is as much your responsibility to check your scores as much as it is ours to try and score them correctly.

  Unbelievable
Posted by: silverbaggie - 29-01-2020, 10:41 - Forum: Cheltenham - No Replies

The Robins away at the Bantams had an unbelievable 77% possession in last night's game.

When I saw that I wondered whether that nice Mr Pulis had been coaching the Bradford team. Whistle

Only a draw in the end and yes it was against 10 men but, even so! Bradford were expected to be one of those teams in the mix for promotion.

Alfie May hit the mark again and Reg Varney finally had some game time... thats good news! Thumb up

So would you like Tim Flowers as manager?

Or would you go along with Pembo?

He took over Solihull when they were struggling and it's only recently they've started looking back.

  Jason "in the limelight" again!
Posted by: 0762 - 27-01-2020, 19:43 - Forum: Hibernian - Replies (4)

It was curious watching Jason Cummings playing again in a high profile FA Cup tie, Shrewsbury Town v a "scratch" Liverpool side. Shrewsbury being "robbed" at the point when Jason came off the subs' bench at 0-2 and after one of the weirdest OGs I've ever seen from a Shrews player named Love!!! JC comes on and suddenly the game "turns on a sixpence" as goals are finally scored and the goal opps not scorned by the Shrews - 2-2 and the home team a "whisker" away from dispatching Liverpool out of this season's FA Cup. Of course, one huge positive factor is a return leg at a packed Annfield Stadium and Jason has already paid back the money (and more!) paid out to bring him in to the League 1 footie club - Club Chairman delighted!

[Image: Wigan_Athletic.svg] v [Image: c8f0e1f02feea03b72811b4b50c0f4c0--britis...nesday.jpg]

LAST MATCH

The lads responded after the debacle against Blackburn as we reached Round 5 of the FA Cup. We made a few changes as expected. We were the better team in the first half and took the lead after a quick thrown in and Morgan Fox finished from an angle. Onto the 2nd half and we were fairly comfortable until mid through he half when Ranges made some changes and started to look more of a threat. We made it two when Reach found Winnall with a precise cross who finished well. QPR pulled on back when Dawson cleared poorly and Wells scored. There was one last corner to defend which we managed to just and onto the next round

THE MATCH

Back to the league as we make the short visit to Wigan. Wigan are struggling in the bottom three and will have a fight on there hands to stay in the Championship. No particular star players for Wigan who are managed by Paul Cook. It will probably down to there home form to see if Wigan will survive this season. We lost our first game last season against this lot although we are playing better away from home at the moment so winning our last 3, so may that continue.

  Prediction League Results/Tables Week 20
Posted by: bomberbrown1968 - 27-01-2020, 11:44 - Forum: West Bromwich Albion - Replies (8)

Player Pts CS CR GB BB SB
Derby 21 2 4 5 3 1
B.B.B. 15 1 3 5 6 0
Bomber 13 0 4 5 3 1
A.A.A. 9 0 4 NP 3 0
Sanjay 5 2 1 -3 -3 1
Beefy 5 2 1 -3 -3 1
Zinman 2 0 2 NP -3 1
SC Owl 1 0 3 -3 -3 1
Themaclad -2 0 2 -3 -3 0

Certainly a better week in the PL than last week's disaster!! Top spot is claimed by Derby with his best score of the season with 21 points!! He was one of three players to get a CR on the Gamball and added points from his other two balls as well. He has been in the relegation spots for a while but I think when Bomber does the table we will see him move up a few places!! In 2nd spot, for the second week in a row is our current league leader BBB on 15 points. He has finally found some consistency, particularly on his ball predictions which saw him get a maximum on his Bonus ball this week. In 3rd place this week on 13 points is Bomber who is proving to be a title contender simply because he rarely has a bad week, this week he scored on all his balls to prove that point!!

4th place on 9 points goes to AAA. His season seems to be all about being essentially in the middle of the pack, but after his promotion last season that might just have been his minimum goal anyway!! No CS really stops him from pushing further up the table and he is only now ahead of Beefy in terms of his best score of the season!!! Joint 5th is Sanjay and Beefy, identical scores and how they got there was identical as well - 2 CS, 1 CR and misses on both the big balls!!! Sanjay should stay as the best of the rest just behind the leaders but Beefy is probably in danger of being relegated at about the same time as Liverpool will win the real PL!!!

Zinman comes in 7th on 2 points, same as he got last week, a relegation battle is surely on for him now!! He is joined in being in danger of the drop by St Charles, who this week also got the same as last week, one solitary point!! Last place this week goes to the same player who was in last place last week, our long time leader Themaclad with -2 points and is totally doing a L**ds, the wheels are falling off!! At least this week he managed to avoid the minimum score - but only just!! Missed all his balls and only got 2 CRs!!!

I think we will see some movement at both ends of the table this week and I fear that 3 out of the 4 committee members may well be fighting over the relegation spots going forward!!! Over to you Bomber!!

Cheers
SCO

Snooty 21pts 2CS 6CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
Twerton 19pts 0CS 7CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
Stairs 10pts 0CS 3CR 5GB 3BB 0SB
MightyBrom 8pts 2CS 5CR -3GB -3BB 0SB
Amelia 8pts 0CS 4CR 0GB 0BB 0SB
Joker 4pts 0CS 3CR -3GB 3BB 0SB
Baggie_One 2pts 1CS 3CR -3GB -3BB 0SB
Lady Jane 2pts 0CS 4CR -3GB -3BB 0SB

Something of an improvement on last week's shambles as scoring returned to something like normal in the Championship.
Snooty's pre-Christmas charge came to a crashing halt last week but it seems that was only a temporary blip as he once again heads this week's table with 21 points making it 6 out of the last 7 weeks in double figures. I had been joking about his promotion prospects after his awful start to the season but that's not looking unrealistic if he keeps this form up. Second place goes to the runaway leader, Twerton, who can surely start to prepare for next season with the big boys (and girls, just in case either Amelia or Lady Jane get promotion). Twerton got a weeks high of 7 correct results but failed to get any of his scores correct.

A long gap to Stairs in 3rd place - only 3 correct predictions but his points tally was helped by 2 of them being the gamball and bonus. In contrast, MightyBrom equalled Snooty's 2 correct score sand collected 3 other correct results but only scored 8 points due to failing on all of his balls, ruining what shoud have been an excellent week. He's joined in mid-table by Amelia who once again failed to get a single correct score - I may be wrong (it has happened once before) but it seems a long time ago since she got a score correct.

A few weeks ago Joker looked nailed on to replace Beefy in the Premier League but his recent stutter continued with just 4 points to enable the chasing pack to close on him . He was grateful for a correct bonus keeping him off the foot of the table, an honour which is shared this week by Baggie_One and Lady Jane.

Bomber will confirm but it appears that, with the exception of Twerton, the Championship table is tightening with only Stairs looking to be out of contention for promotion although even that could change as Snooty's charge has shown.

HTAFC Prediction League 2019/20 Matchday 27
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 27-01-2020, 11:17 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (17)

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score   Laugh
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points Badger

The random badger Badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."  Rolleyes
The joker  Laugh is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.

Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.

Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in. Wink
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.  Rolleyes

Basketball legend Kobe Bryant legend has died at the age of 41 in a helicopter crash. His 13 year old daughter has also died in the crash.

Now I’m not going to try to make out that I know much about basketball. I don’t follow it and I was terrible at it in school but I do know Kobe Bryant and all that he achieved in the sport.

It’s sad that the sporting world has lost another legend.

RIP Kobe.

Laugh The broadband bears will be weeping all over their laptops the night Laugh

The huns are a one man team, Morelos has been covering up their shortcomings for months now. Defoe will get you goals in the box but his his legs have completely gone. Giving him another contract was crazy. When players his age drop off the deterioration is quick. Sevco are 10 million in the hole for the rest of the season but you wouldn't put it past them to sign someone. To think traynors feeding the press talk of kamara going to Juventus Laugh Maybe they can use that money !

As for hertz, good performance - credit where it's due. Stendel has put some belief into them and now he just has to get his attacking style across. Their touch and passing collectively was pretty honking for long periods though, fortunately not even Steven Mclean at his sash bearing best could salvage a result for the huns.

Boyce is going to be a good signing for them and get goals, expect they will stay up now.
