Celtic apparently the highest scoring team in Europe at the mo and again Odsonne Edouard showing how valuable a player he is with the Hoops improving their GD in the process. Another good night's work by Celtic.

After briefly reading this article, one can honestly say it has nothing to do with loathing LFC but just a case of their dominance has rendered the Premiership to be a bit of a "bore" and an embarrassment TBF!! There should be at least a couple of very wealthy footie clubs positioned much closer to Liverpool's top place than what we are observing and IMO the Premiership's reputation has been damaged - there is no competition and there should be!! There are obviously a number of reasons for this failure and one could scrutinise the top five footie clubs in England to get a clearer picture in explaining such an embarrassing collapse in competition. Returning to a future position that displays "stiff competition" is absolutely imperative and a lotta work needs to be done at certain top footie clubs who have not impressed at all.

SMILIES/BALLS
Bonus Ball
Score Ball, Free to use Ball , play it on a game that you think both teams will score in !
Gamball,
New Scoring System
Incorrect Result = 0 point
Incorrect Result (Bonus Ball) = -3 * Changed from -2
Incorrect Result (Gamball) = -3
[/color]
Score Ball = 1 added Point if both teams score. !
Correct Result = +2 points
Correct Result (Bonus Ball) = +3
Correct Result (Gamball) = +5 * Changed from +4
Correct Score = + 4 points
Correct Score (Bonus Ball) = +6
Correct Score (Gamball) = +10 * Changed from +8
As you can see the incorrect scoring has not really changed apart from a wrong Bonus this will be now scored at -3 instead of -2 the reason for this are the gains on the new Gamball scoring you will make (see below) in the hope this encourages you to use it most if not all of the time.
So to the Gamball, the use of the Gamball was tactically not used in some cases last season as the gains we not considered to great compared to the losses, it's for this reason we have decided to change the scoring, The loss will stay the same at -3 but the reward will be a correct result will go up by one from 4 to 5 points and the correct score will go up by 2 from 8 to 10 points !!!
Just a reminder you DO NOT have to play the Gamball if you dont want too, the score will then be marked normal.
Again the third from bottom of the premiership will play off against the third in the table from the Championship to keep even more excitement going, they will have to predict through all the Playoffs and the winner obviously takes their place in the Premier League the following season
Beefy, Bomber, Zinman & SCO
If you do not predict,...........
If in your league everyone scores above zero you will receive Zero points,
However if in your league the person with the lowest score is below Zero (eg -4) you will score -5 and receive your first strike, Remember 3 strikes and you're out.
All scores must be in before MIDDAY SATURDAY,(For The Early Kick Off If Applicable) If the early kick off is missed the rest of your predictions must reach us by 2.45pm or none will be counted.

Player Pts CS CR Gamball BB SB
Themaclad 17 3 3 -3 6 0
Sanjay 11 2 2 -3 3 1
A.A.A. 11 1 3 NP 3 0
Bomber 7 0 4 -3 3 1
Zinman 5 0 3 -3 3 1
St Charles 5 0 3 -3 3 1
Beefy 4 1 1 -3 3 0
Derby 3 0 2 -3 3 1
B.B.B. -1 0 2 -3 -3 1
This week saw a big turnaround for our previous leader Themaclad. After two sub-zero weeks he finally put some form together and finished in 1st place this week with 17 points. Nobody scored anything on the Gamball this week but at least he managed to get 3 CS including on the bonus!! Close behind in joint second on 11 points are Sanjay and AAA, both scoring a CR on the bonus.
Bit of a gap to 4th spot where we find Mr Consistency Bomber on 7 points, he didn't manage any CS but did pick up 4 CR including the Bonus. Joint 5th on 5 points are Zinman and St Charles, they had identical ways of reaching that score, missing the Gamball but getting a CR on the Bonus. Beefy comes in 6th spot with 4 points, no revival in sight for him even though we are way past Xmas now!!!
Derby is in 8th on 3 points, like nearly everyone else he scored points on the Bonus and scoreball but did little else. Last place this week on -1 is our current leader BBB, a disaster of a week and after a couple of good weeks to get him that top spot its going to be tight to see if he retains it after this poor showing. Aside from BBB, the top half of the table are in the top half of the scoring this week and the guys at the bottom are losing more ground again. I think we will see the top and the bottom get tighter this week!!!
Cheers

We had a maximum gamball score this week though , frankly, it made no difference to the league table. With what must be the biggest winning margin in prediction league history, Baggie_One cruises to the top and charges into promotion contention with an impressive 25 points. 10 points from the gamball, a correct bonus result, 2 other correct scores and scores on 6 matches equalled his best score of the season so far.
Not much to choose between the rest who languish a long way back from Baggie_One. Joker and Twerton share 2nd place with just 8 points. Joker equalled B1's 6 correct results but drew a complete blank on his balls to ruin what could have been a good week. Twerton only got 3 correct results and lost points on the gamball but shares 2nd place due to a rare maximum on his bonus. 3 players stuck together on 6 points, Stairs and Lady Jane both getting 5 correct results but with a complete blank on their balls, and Amelia once again failing to get a score right but probably helped by not playing any balls. I haven't kept the history but it seems a long time ago that Amelia scored a maximum on any game.
Snooty's recovery came to a grinding halt with just 3 points, with a potential disaster week saved by the bonus and score balls. Holding up the table and continuing his recent poor run of form is MightyBrom. Like Snooty he was saved from a negative score by his bonus but dropping over 20 points on B1 will surely damage his promotion prospects.

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points
The random badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."
The joker is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.
Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.
Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in.
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.

This is probably a good time to play the Huns in Glasgow because they are definitely not playing very well at the mo. However, I remain cautious and the main reason for that stance is because of Hibs perceived fragility in defence. Even our goalie doesn't send out a great message of assurance because he looks unsure for some reason - been doing it for quite a while!!! Why? Does he need a rest and give Bogdan the opp to impress if ready to do so? Also Gray doesn't look match fit and prob injured again anyway. I've been "banging on" for long enough that I wanna see a competent midfield "battler", in the "hole" in front of our central defence, thereby "shoring it up" and making sure it is secure!! In other words - no more fragile defensive antics!!! I notice that Efe is still a free agent and I'd be tempted to take him back and use him specifically in that role as well as backing the CB partnership. The odd thing is that the boys have not lost a match for a while and long may that continue. However, there is that threat of a potential "doing" at Ibronx and JR's choice of starting line up needs to be "spot on" while trying to probe that Rangers back line in the same way that the Dons' recently did it very well but didn't punish those Huns! C'mon Hibs

Celtic not at their best today and yet the final score line does not suggest that fact!! Jullien given a very uncomfortable 1st half by the Hamilton CF, Ogkmpoe, and Celtic briefly losing 1-0. Odsonne Edouard proving again how valuable a player he is with a "brace" of goals and should've scored a "hat trick". Lenny's use of his subs, Christie, Rogic and Hayes, in the 2nd half was a "game changer" in ensuring a solid Hoops victory at the end. From a Celtic point of view, this was another potential "banana skin" on an artificial pitch "done n dusted"! IMO these games on artificial pitches could well be the crucial fixtures that matter in winning another league title and this result adds another 3 pts alongside the match win v Killie on another artificial pitch.
