  Day 5
Posted by: Arcane Astral Aeons - 31-07-2020, 12:22 - Forum: West Bromwich Albion - No Replies

Todays Events:
Clay Pigeon Shooting:
Archery:
And A Very Early Olympic Arrival(more on that later)

But We Start With The Sheep Shearing Event
And The Welsh Have Pulled Out(obviously got shearing and another word confused, don`t you just love the welsh)
highlights are available(so i am informed on porn hub, just click on the animal section)

Now To The Cross Country Event....event organizers are being criticized for not preventing the runners from running through the local farmers field
And So To The Womens Shot Put........and as predicted the Russian lady has thrown a massive hissy fit due to the fact that the shot put wasn`t pink

Archery:
an event that G.B has never won a medal, and that looks like it`s not going to change, after 2 rounds the G.B Archer has not even hit the target(where is Robin Hood When You need him)

Clay Pigeon Shooting:
was temporary suspended due to an influx of Pigeon racers confusing the athletes, total carnage, the clay ones survived but it was not so good for the real ones
blood and dead birds littered the course

Synchronized Swimming:
nothing much happening just a load of legs protruding from the pool(exciting stuff)

And On To The Sandcastle Building......nice castle from the scots  the rest were washed away during a rather heavy rainstorm
Dry Stone Wall Building:...not looking good for the Scottish team(after they screwed up Hadrians Wall)

and finally updates from yesterday:
the basketball between France/Spain is still going on.....and on and on

And I Am Just Hearing Something Through My Earpiece .........yes it sounds like Pink Floyd

More In The Highlights This Evening

  World Snooker Championship 2020

Here we go. Live sport, with an audience.

Draw in full:
Judd Trump v Tom Ford
Yan Bingtao v Elliot Slessor
Stephen Maguire v Martin Gould
Kyren Wilson v Anthony Hamilton
John Higgins v Matthew Stevens
David Gilbert v Kurt Maflin
Jack Lisowski v Anthony McGill
Mark Allen v Jamie Clarke
Mark Williams v Alan McManus
Stuart Bingham v Ashley Carty
Ding Junhui v Mark King
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Thepchaiya Un-Nooh
Mark Selby v Jordan Brown
Shaun Murphy v Noppon Saengkham
Barry Hawkins v Alexander Ursenbacher
Neil Robertson v Liang Wenbo

Anthony Hamilton withdrew from the competition last night due to health concerns. He's asthmatic and unhappy that there will be 300 spectators there. And he has a point. The players have been living in an eco bubble all during the qualifying rounds, but now they're letting Tom, Dick and Harry in. Also unhappy is Ronnie O'Sullivan. He says the players are being treat like lab rats.

  Who is he??

Just flashed up on my iphone that West Brom are loaning a 20 year old midfielder to Cheltenham Town for this coming season.
Nothing showing on the Robins' website yet but, he's said to be 20 years old and over 6ft tall and has good potential.

I don't think he's played for the Baggies' first team yet but should get some good experience with the Robins who will be trying once more for promotion.

A bit of a fuss about their use of Chiefs, the logo's and owt else that goes with it.
'appen this will help them resolve it

This is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins

Dear Mr. Page: I agree with our Native American population. I am highly jilted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.

Let's ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If your shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns.

The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60's alive. Gone. It's offensive to us white folk.

The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men's lives.

I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres.

Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates!

Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even spending habits. Wrong message to our children.

The New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants promote obesity, a growing childhood epidemic. Wrong message to our children. The Cincinnati Reds promote downers/barbiturates. Wrong message to our children.

The Milwaukee Brewers. Well that goes without saying. Wrong message to our children.

So, there you go. We need to support any legislation that comes out to rectify this travesty, because the government will likely become involved with this issue, as they should. Just the kind of thing the do-nothing Congress loves.

As a die-hard Oregon State fan, my wife and I, with all of this in mind, suggest it might also make some sense to change the name of the State women's athletic teams to something other than "the Beavers (especially when they play Southern California. Do we really want the Trojans sticking it to the Beavers???

I always love your articles and I generally agree with them. As for the Redskins name I would suggest they change the name to the "Foreskins" to better represent their community, paying tribute to the dick heads in Washington DC.

'appen as not then Smile Thumb up
