Darren Fletcher has been appointed Technical Director of Man Utd.
This a proud day for him and his family. To be technical director at a club as big as Man Utd is an important job. He should able to help Man Utd. The Man Utd and Scotland legend has a proud history with Manchester United. I hope he has the full support of the fans. He should help the Man Utd Manager do a good job.  Big Grin

  Prediction League Results/Tables Week 22

Premier League

Player Pts CS CR GB BB SB
Amelia 12 2 3 -3 3 0
Sanjay 9 2 1 -3 6 0
Bomber 5 1 3 -3 -3 1
Derby 3 1 2 -3 -3 1
Snooty 2 1 2 -3 -3 0
Themaclad 1 1 1 -3 -3 1
Twerton 0 0 3 -3 -3 0
St Charles -2 1 0 -3 -3 0
A.A.A. -4 0 1 -3 -3 0
B.B.B. -4 0 1 -3 -3 0

Well the Premier League this week played like they were the Northern Premier League!!!  A combined 22 points for the 10 players, just bloody awful!!  The balls were certainly a problem this week, the Gamball gave a "perfect" score of -30 points, everyone played it and everyone got it wrong!!!

Top of the pile for the first time in ages is Amelia on 12 points, the only player to get into double figures and one of only 2 to get positive points on the Bonus.  The other Bonus Ball recipient was Sanjay in 2nd spot with 9 points, he got a CS on the Bonus to boost his score.  Bomber is in 3rd on 5 points thanks to getting something on 4 games while missing his main balls.

After this it gets brutal so I won't dwell on much.  Derby managed 3 points, with Lord Snooty just behind on 2 and Themaclad on 1 point!!  Twerton didn't trouble the scorers with a big fat zero and then the bottom 3 all ended on negative points - St Charles managed -2 to follow from his minimum score last week and the alphabet boys, AAA and BBB, finished joint bottom on -4 each!!

BBB - 250
Sanjay - 212
St Charles - 201
AAA - 185
Bomber - 182
Lord Snooty - 177
Derby - 160
Amelia - 151
Themaclad - 134
Twerton - 120

Only one place change in the table, Sanjay is now the one chasing BBB, with SCO dropping to 3rd after a dreadful couple of weeks.  The rest are as you were but the battle for 4th place between AAA, Bomber and Lord Snooty is now tighter and down to just 8 points between them.  Amelia's good week compared to everyone else means she is now just 9 points behind Derby, can she escape the Relegation PO?  Themaclad and Twerton are still well adrift in the automatic relegation spots and both are looking doomed!!

Cheers
SCO

In a week where 5 players got the gamball result right with 2 of them getting the score spot on, you'd expect high scores, right?

Wrong.

Not much between us in terms of correct result predictions but even so we have a clear winner this week with Silver hitting the 20 point mark. Only 4 results right but three of them were spot on, including his bonus, and the other one was the gamball. Add a rare scoreball point and you have a very good week and one that will put him right up in the promotion chase. Minizin also got 3 maximums from his 4 correct results and one of those just happened to be the gamball. Sadly (well, not really) he chose not to play it so lost out on the extra 6 points, also losing points on his bonus. Joker crept into double figures thanks to a correct bonus making up for the loss  on his gamball.

Somerset was late to the party, missing out on the Friday game, and only got 2 correct results though this was enough to secure 4th place thanks largely to a maximum on his bonus. In Somerset's case, not playing the gamball proved to be a wise choice. Zinman's run of mediocracy continued though he was helped by getting the gamball spot on.....yes, sadly (in this case I mean it) he chose to wuss out again (apparently it runs in the family).

Another week of struggle for Lady Jane - just 2 correct predictions though she avoided an even worse score by getting the gamball result right. Stairs was the 5th player to score on the gamball, and the third not to play it. Both Lady Jane and Stairs failed to get a maximum from a correct score, the only players to do so this week.

BaagieOne's incredible recent run came to a crashing run as he sits bottom this week with DD. Both had identical results, and actually had a better week in terms of correct predictions than Somerset in 4th place. They were of course let down by their balls, losing out on both the gamball and bonus and failing to register with the scoreball.

Minizin 228
BaggieOne 207
Silver 201
Zinman 190
Stairs 189
Somerset 184
Joker 184
DD 181
Lady Jane 140

Minizin's lead at the top has again increased and he is beginning to look comfortable (I'm hoping my prediction curse can kick in here) for promotion. BaggieOne retains 2nd place but what was a 19 point gap to 3rd is now just 6 thanks to Silver's great week as he breaks the 200 point barrier. Some minor shuffling below the top 3 with Stairs and DD both dropping 2 places and Somerset and Joker climbing. Lady Jane's position at the foot of the table looks to be beyond help, rather like a certain football team I could mention.

HTAFC Prediction League 2020/21 Matchday 28
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 08-03-2021, 01:06 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (14)

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score   Laugh
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points Badger

The random badger Badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."  Rolleyes
The joker  Laugh is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.

Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.

Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in. Wink
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.  Rolleyes

Dundee Utd 0 Celtic 0 - CFC finally lose the title BUT.....
Posted by: 0762 - 07-03-2021, 17:27 - Forum: Celtic - Replies (3)

........the manner in which this team dropped the requisite points to lose the league title at Tannadice (instead of possibly at Celtic Park) today v a fairly average to poor United side really is open to question and downright suspicion!!! Totally outplayed DU and about 30 shots on the United goal today and the comments uttered by certain commentators and pundits like "remarkable how Edouard missed that particular shot in front of goal" or astounding that player A or B or C missed that chance from 4 yards, 5 yards out or managed to hit the goalie - it sounded like a "stuck record player" to be frank about it!! I've watched footie for well nigh 60 years and I reckon I've played well over 600 matches at various levels since the days when I was lucky enough to play for Edinburgh schools and this particular match is placed high on my list of dodgy match results. I sometimes joke to my kids that I'd have scored a particular scoring opp shown on the tv "in ma sleep", the chance being too easy to miss and I'd certainly apply that comment in a good number of instances where certain Celtic players didn't do their reputations any favours today. I'll just say that I always played in any competitive footie match to try and win the game - a pure n simple philosophy from someone who "played to compete and try to win a game of footie" and that view remains and falls within the integrity/true principles of the game and how it is played around the world. I did not like what I was observing today from certain Celtic players and I reckon a lotta people won a lotta money on this result today after observing the events unfold after about 60 mins.

And Roy K was never a man for "mincing his words" esp when it comes to anything to do with a seriously toxic Scot footie club called Rangers FC - classic Roy Keane response lol!! Laugh And Souness coyly sitting there "taking it all in"!

COVID violations at Ibrox!! What gives with Scot footie breaches again??
Posted by: 0762 - 06-03-2021, 23:03 - Forum: Scottish Premiership Discussion - Replies (33)

Watching some of the ridiculous crowd scenes/COVID violations at Ibronx today, before and after their game v Saint Mirren, and my first question focuses on the role of certain officials of the Glesca Police and why on earth they didn't impose appropriate traffic management measures, road closures/no access etc in order to stop this kinda breach of the Scot govt's COVID restrictions around the Govan club's stadium. THEY EFFECTIVELY CONDONED THIS BEHAVIOUR WHICH IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!Thumb down The SG restrictions are for everyone to comply with and once again we're watching another instance of Scot footie operating to different rules and above the law - disgraceful and totally unacceptable as well as being a huge public health issue. The warning signs were there for all to see outside Livingston FC's stadium on Wednesday night, again unacceptable activities/behaviour by large groups of Rangers fans who think they are above it all and it reminds me of similar behaviour in the United States by Trump anti-vaccination/law breaking morons.
