Charlton have offered long-serving captain Jason Pearce a coaching role, while six players have been released.

Pearce, an Addicks player since 2016, is set to work with the club's academy, but fellow defenders Chris Gunter and Adam Matthews are leaving.

Midfielder Ben Watson, striker Conor Washington, left-back Pape Souare and goalkeeper Stephen Henderson will also depart The Valley.

The League One club are in contract talks with defender Ben Purrington.

They have also triggered one-year extensions for Jake Forster-Caskey, Ryan Inniss, Josh Davison and Nathan Harness.

Charlton's director of recruitment Steve Gallen said: "We have a group of players in place and our focus this summer is adding further quality to the squad."

Veteran playmaker Lee Tomlin is one of five players to be released by League Two side Walsall.

The former Peterborough and Cardiff forward, 33, arrived in February but made just one start and four substitute appearances in an injury-hit spell.

Goalkeeper Jack Rose, defender Zak Mills and academy products Joe Willis and Tom Leak have also been let go.

Walsall are in talks to keep midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe and have taken up options on Sam Perry and Joe Foulkes.

Injured duo Joss Labadie and Conor Wilkinson, who are both expected to miss much of the 2022-23 campaign after knee operations, are among 10 players contracted for next season.

Liam Kinsella, Jack Earing, Donervon Daniels, Brendan Kiernan, Manny Monthe, Hayden White, Rollin Menayese and Devante Rodney are the others under contract.

Attacking midfielder Rory Holden, who has played just four games since December 2020 due to knee problems, has not been offered a new deal but been invited to return for pre-season training.

Nigel Atangana is among eight players released by Exeter City after they won promotion to League One.

Callum Rowe and Ben Seymour have also left the club after the Grecians missed out on the league title on the final day of the season.

Colin Daniel, Jordan Dyer, Jack Veale, James Dodd and Ellis Johnson have also been released.

Loanees Cameron Dawson, Padraig Amond, Offrande Zanzala and Kieran Phillips have returned to their parent clubs.

Exeter's final-day defeat at home to Port Vale, coupled with Forest Green Rovers' draw with Mansfield, ensured the Gloucestershire club were promoted as champions.

A club statement said: "Matt Taylor has spoken to each of the released players individually and has thanked them for their contribution to Exeter City, and we all wish them well for their future careers."

Newport County striker Padraig Amond has confirmed he is leaving the Exiles.

The 34-year-old striker spent this season on loan at Exeter City and helped them to League Two promotion.

Amond made 206 appearances for County and scored 59 goals after signing from Hartlepool in 2017, finishing top scorer for Newport in every season he played for the club and helping them to two play-off finals.

"I loved my four years at the club," Amond wrote on social media.

"Thank you to all the Newport County supporters for their support and respect."

Amond is perhaps best remembered for his exploits in the FA Cup, scoring goals against Tottenham Hotspur Leicester City, Middlesbrough and Manchester City, earning him a Republic of Ireland call-up in 2019.

Leyton Orient have handed veteran captain Darren Pratley an extension to his contract.

The ex-Swansea and Bolton midfielder, now 37, made 39 league appearances last season to trigger a new deal.

Sam Sargent, Tom James and Ruel Sotiriou have also been offered new deals, while Orient have options on Adam Thompson, Matt Young and Rhys Byrne.

The club have released midfield pair Callum Reilly and Antony Papadopoulos.

Tranmere Rovers have released former Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing.

The 33-year-old spent two seasons with the League Two club and played in 75 league games.

Rovers have also released defenders Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Joe Maguire, midfielder Callum McManaman and strikers Mani Dieseruvwe and Nicky Maynard.

They are in talks over a new deal with 40-year-old defender Peter Clarke, who played 51 matches this season.

Clarke, who made his professional debut for Everton in January 2001, was named in the League Two team of the season.

The Prenton Park side are also in talks with veteran goalkeeper Joe Murphy, defender Calum McDonald and midfielders Sam Foley, Kieron Morris and Ryan Stratulis.

Huddersfield Town travel to Luton to Kenilworth Road on Friday night for the first leg of the Play Offs semis and then they come up to ours on Monday night for the 2nd leg.

Head Coach Carlos Corberán rested a few players for the final match at home to Bristol City. There was a slight niggle for Lewis O'Brien, which shouldn't be a problem. Sorba Thomas has said he's fit and ready to go, but ex Luton defender Matty Pearson, won't be ready for this one. Duane Holmes took a knock on Saturday and played on for half an hour because Carlos had already made his three substitutions and he is now a doubt for Friday night.

Luton manager, Nathan Jones, has been whining on for weeks about the size of his injury list, but when they're all added together, he has fewer injuries than we do. He's just a whiny, snivelling little git.

If Luton win the Play Offs this season, they will be the first team to win promotion from the National League to the Premier League. And that will be at the same time as Oldham Athletic become the first team to have played in the Premier League to be relegated down to the National League.

Blackpool have activated one-year contract extensions for Richard Keogh, Keshi Anderson, Ewan Bange, Josh Bowler, Brad Holmes, Stuart Moore and Jordan Thorniley.

Keogh, 35, joined the Seasiders on a one-year deal last summer, following a short-term stint with Huddersfield.

He went on to make 31 appearances this season, helping Blackpool to a 16th-placed finish in the Championship.

Anderson, 27, and Bowler, 23, were also first-team regulars this term.

Meanwhile, the club also announced they will release Cameron Antwi, Ryan Grant, Johnny Johnston, Matthew Liptrott, Charlie Monks, Ethan Robson, Sky Sinclair and Grant Ward.

Ward, 27, joined Blackpool from Ipswich in 2019 and made 56 appearances for the club, including in their 2020-21 League One play-off final win against Lincoln.

Fulham have taken up their options to extend the contracts of defender Tim Ream and forward Neeskens Kebano by a further 12 months.

The deals of both players had been due to expire in June.

US international Ream, 34, started all 46 of Fulham's league games as they won the Championship title to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Kebano, 30, scored a career-best nine goals and contributed seven assists for the Whites.

Vice-chairman Tony Khan told the club website: "Tim Ream and Neeskens Kebano have been instrumental in our promotion this season, playing every game they've been involved in with passion and professionalism.

"We have exercised the option to extend both of their contracts for a further year, and we are all happy that they will be part of the squad next season."
