All I wish is Darren to look outside of the U.K. for a change. British based players is not the be and all end all. Mulumbu, Odemwingie, Rondon, Olsson, Gera etc all came from abroad.

Hi Josh, we've had months together with several recruitment experts and come up with nothing. While I agree with your thoughts - we differ on one thing, we have no money to spend on transfers / Agents / or even salaries. It should be obvious to us all DM took the managers role under the condition he would have little or no money for transfers and any surplus funds would be going to the Jenkins / Lai slush fund.
Basically "what we have is it". We're in the hands of our youngsters and it's sink or swim time.
I think we all understand we are skint what's your point Phil,
I'm pointing out we are even deciding to go against loans as soon as the other team wants a bit more towards wages,
I'm pointing out what's been reported not what I'm saying it's plain to see the bleeding obvious I'm just pointing out its probably worse than it is..
With due respect I think every one can see we are being run on a shoestring ffs Dodgy
YEAH lets bench the established players
and field a team of youngsters
not having a pop at Phil
but come on .....
surely the aim is promotion?
with kids?
never going to happen
we have(as been posted on another thread) a series of tough fixtures coming up that will determine our season
what we need for those games ARE NOT KIDS..we need our strongest XI for most of those fixtures

You need to calm down sir.
Direct your bad feelings elsewhere.
FYI I was conversing with Josh, not your good self, although you appear to agree with what I said.
When/if  I want you to point anything out to me I will ask.

We need a mix - the youngsters and the older heads can do it together as a team.

Who was it who said "you will never win anything with a bunch of kids"?

Spot on - we don't have the quality of the MU kids but we're not trying to win the PL and European cup.
Until we recognise the senior guys Barry/Mozza/Brunt/Hoolahan/Mears cannot perform for 90 minutes game after game and our youngsters are our only chance to inject some energy and drive into our squad atm. Bringing them on for the last 5 minutes of  game does nothing. We should already have Field - Harper and possibly Edwards playing week in and out.
Looks like Villa will beat us to Mings ...

Looks like Albion decided against it when they realised Bournemouth wanted most of the wages paid ...
Newcastle V Man City
Hayden Playing and Murphy on the bench tonight against City can't see them going anywhere in the next 2 days.

Rondon scores and MC lose 2 shocks in one game? does this mean his value has gone up ?
As ever, I'll reserve judgement on the window until it's closed.

January is a tough market because you're waiting on Premier League sides to make last minute deals to free up their squad players.

To be fair to us, right back has been the biggest problem area all season and we got Holgate sorted on the 1st.

Subsequently, the injury crisis at central midfield have made that area a priority too, while wide forward is a problem of our own making.

I do believe we will have a wide forward coming in as it would be ridiculous to release both Sako and Burke after losing Barnes if we didn't have someone almost guaranteed to come in. While it's possible we might have took a gamble that could fail by releasing players before confirming anyone would come in, I would hope the powers that be at the club aren't completely clueless and it's just red tape holding up that deal.

I also hold a hope that if Leicester sign someone, Barnes could come back. Puel knows he's not ready for Premier League football and has bowed to the fans to bring him back on the final day they could recall him. I do believe after the performance against Wolves where Puel withdrew him early, if they sign someone, they might be willing to let him come back.

As for central midfield, this is the area I think we might miss out on. Harper's good performances and Field scoring in the Bolton game might convince the powers that be that we do not need anyone. Personally, I'm pleased with them both but don't think they are quite ready to start games yet if we're serious about dominating games and winning automatic promotion. Field comes into his own in the games like Brighton, where you're asking him to defend and plug gaps (Pulis style) but needs to develop as a footballer against lesser opposition. Harper has raw talent but is young and drifts in and out of games. I'd love us to sign a midfield dominator, but can't really see it.

But let's judge at the end of the window... There's nobody really blowing the league away with signings this month, everyone is in the same boat.
According to John Percy, we are on the verge of getting Jacob Murphy on loan from Newcastle (no deal to buy at end of season). Think this would be a good signing.
