If you want to discuss sectarianism in Scottish football and indeed in Scottish society then do so, but to simply "ban" one offender while ignoring the bigger picture is either just petty hatred towards Rangers or even worse complete ignorance of the problem as a whole.  There are very few mainsteam clubs in Scotland who have not suffered from an element of their support spouting sectarian crap, Hibs included, its time that Scottish Football and more importantly the Scottish legal system deals with this across the board.

I think some clubs have done a lot to eradicate this and for sure Rangers need to do a lot more to stop this at Ibrox but continually blaming just one portion of the problem will not eradicate this as a whole.

Its a tad insulting having some english chap in america spouting pish like that, but in the spirit of 2016 i'll let it go....but you have xxxx all idea what you are talking about.

Its a question of scale, and i deeply resent the rest of scottish fitba being thrown in with a stadium full of fans singing about bobby sands, our manager being a fenian, and our supporters being told to 'cry in the chapel'. (I'm church of scotland btw you xxxx twats)

Yet its the rest of scottish fitba, time and time again told to wise up,move on,look at other bad stuff, you are as bad as us- but never ,ever at the real source of sectarianism not at ibrox... and round and round we go.

Only the rangers fans can choose to not sing their songs of hatred and superiority over a section of their countrymen...Only cooper on here has remotely suggested something was wrong on monday - all credit to him.

Well that's me well and truly put in my place!!!

You've picked the right place for hand ringing if that's your forte.

I actually laughed out loud at the suggestion that Ibrox is the source of sectarianism. That's the stupidity you're up against.

Maybe you should google the definition of "source".

As I said, you take stupidity to new depths.

Hmm, stupidity, it's a Hibs related affliction.

I would suggest that it can't possibly be true because sectarianism precedes both Rangers and Ibrox.

I look forward to a rewriting of British history from the reformation onwards to suit your argument.

I dinnae think a' the songs predate ibrox and rangers, and a source isn't necessarily where something originates, its where something can be obtained, and a feeling of hatred and bigotry is certainly something you "obtain" when you visit ibrox. still nothing but denial and deflection on these boards though. never mind

Careful you don't backtrack off a cliff. You put forward that Ibrox was the "real...source" of sectarianism.

Now explain how you can "obtain" sectarianism and bigotry at Ibrox.

If Ibrox didn't exist would sectarianism disappear? No.

Stultifying idiocy.

dinnae think I've actually said anywhere that ibrox is the real source of sectarianism, although I do think its a source. and I never said you obtain sectarianism and bigotry, I said a feeling of hatred and bigotry is something you obtain.
