Yet again defensively we were very poor. It really is time to say it as it is, but Dawson has been shocking all season. He constantly gives the ball away, doesn't get rid quick enough and is caught in possession and positionaly he generally has know idea where he should be. I was delighted when we managed to hang onto him this season, but he has been a huge disappointment. It's easy to see why tosin is out on loan and there was never a chance he'd be recalled by citeh, and first impressions of Murphy are not good.
The talk of DM being given an extended contract really worries me. Sorry folks, but he is out of his depth. We have been sussed and he just does not see it. Play a high line against us, don't give the back four time on the ball and they will make mistake after mistake. We are no longer effective on the counter attack without Barnes and Phillips, the latter who will now fail to have any impact for the rest of the season as it will just take too long to get back up to speed.
We all know that 90% of last nights team won't be there next season, because let's be honest, we ain't getting promoted. Only Johnston, Livermore and Harper (maybe) will remain along with some of those on the bench, Bond, tulloch and field. The rest will be off because they think they are better than they are or will return to parent clubs.
Yes very pessimistic, but correct.

Hi ya hope your well, Big_Dave and a couple of others have been barred I see on WBA unoff - our form and expectations are fickle really.
Most polls showed our expectations would be mid table - we have done a lot better then anyone expected (including me)
Sadly this has been at the expense of doing a good rebuild for an all out assault next season. We have focused on
promotion and with failed tactics and repetitive errors we're heading towards the mid table position, but with no progress made
on rebuilding. Squad wise we will be worse off at the end of this season then last. Things will not improve while Darren
is the manager - nobody wanted an apprentice as a manager, well I assume Jenkins was happy with the price he was paying.
Darren has some fantastic qualities, but he is far to close to the players to be a good manager. You cannot be the
manager making hard decisions and be best friends with your players - it does not work - it never has and never will.
A coach can be a middle man, the manager has to be his own man and what he says goes. Darren needs to go back to
working with youngsters and forget management. And the "legend" status I keep seeing is rubbish. He was a fair defender
played 100 games for us (spent quite a bit of time injured, sub, etc) he was nothing special tbh. He was never in the Wile
Robertson grade. I like him, because he loves the club. But "Legend" not in my book.
Our new recruitment team clearly demonstrated in the January window what they are going to be doing - SPENDING NOTHING
They have not found us any gems, we may as well get rid of them - waste of space, time and money IMO.
All in all we are on the slippery slope and it's all downhill, to halt this Lai needs to invest and Darren and Jenkins has to go.
We tried Darren and it's been a cheap short term option with titanic costs now coming our way.

Darren’s role is Head Coach so his coaching ability and in-game management are the two most important aspects of his role. His coaching is very good and he has improved players but his in-game management is lacking at times especially when it comes to making subs. I think he can be very good long term as long as he learns from his mistakes.
In the summer I said I’d be happy with a play-off spot and our young players being played and he has done that so far although his form with the youth has varied from month to month.

Agree Josh, we are exactly where I thought we would be! In the play off shake up, blooding youngsters alongside seasoned pro's, I honestly think it's the best we can ask for. I think if he played out from the back quicker and stopped passing around ala Man City, we wouldn't make the mistakes thus leading to rewarding the opposition easy goals as per their 1st last night! Gayle was a passenger last night and JRod was the only one upfront trying to make things happen, we are desperate for pace and echo peoples thoughts on Phillips return (cant come soon enough). We did get a little joy last night on our right their left in the first half but didn't really exploit it. I think Harper is one for the future and was a crossbar away from a worldy last night!
I think this year play offs at best, next year promotion or bust, DM goes if we don't go up by May 2020 end of!

With players leaving at the end of this season and loanee's returning and with little or no transfer money our squad will be depleted next season.
Players will need replacing like it or not -
Myhill - Holgate - Mears - Hoolahan - Murphy - Johansen - Tosin - Montero - Brunt - Morrison - Barry - Gayle
That's not including anyone who could possibly be sold. (Without investment to support theirs and our ambition why would they want to stay?)
Dawson - Hegazi - Gibbs - Phillips - JRod
Leaves with a few good youngsters.
