I think we all need to calm down!  Yes, its not great at the moment but it was never going to be.  I think we are about par for the course at the moment.  I would have probably taken where we are now at this stage of the season.  And yes, we are only 3 points ahead of Burnley but we are also only 4 off Arsenal, at the end of the day, the table doesn’t lie.

Literally, for the first time since he has arrived, Irvine now has a full compliment of players to choose from.  If results don’t pick up, and he doesn’t change the team around, then it would be time to get concerned.  We made a big deal about having no wingers at the start of the season.  We purchased Blanco and Valera (now fit), so lets see them Im action!  Especially at home!  I cant stand the sight of Chris Brunt starting.  The man is now an average Championship player!  Dorrans can have his days but is NOT a right winger!  The Mulumbu exclusion is also bewildering?  On his day, I think he is our best payer and more often than not puts in a 7/10 performance.

The Newcastle result was worrying but losing 2-0 to Chelsea is no disgrace (although I know the score flattered us).  If we are in a similar position in the league come new year then AI will have done well in my book.

Wasn’t my personal choice for Manager but let’s support him while he is in charge and in my opinion doing a fair job.

Enough is Enough, he will send us down and I can see us in the bottom 3 come Christmas Thumb down

Its got to the point where I am struggling to motivate myself to get to the games and I have a season ticket..

Danny I am very calm bud to be honest. Over 40+ years I have seen some rubbish managers at The Albion and IMO AI is one of them. Its not just bewilderment at team selection, its the NO Plan 'B' and no motivation. We have no choice but to support him do we? as I never Boo the team, players or the manager BUT both Everton nor Newcastle were anything to shout about, yet we played like the away team.

Go to Chelsea and try and defend with the odd counter was never going to work. you see it all the time lower teams attacking the big boys and it scares them.......yes you may lose but you will always lose against them by trying to defend for 90 mins. We couldn't even defend a basic corner for the 2nd goal. If not for Foster it could have been 10. Still as you say its no disgrace to lose to them and with 10 men BUT we need an injection of pace and width and a shake up.

AI lovely bloke, plus prob great on the training ground but he's never succeeded as a manager and we are teetering on the brink. We have some more hard games coming up, we need to change the mentality and be on the front foot from the off Thumb up

Could we be in with a chance of replacing AI with a Manager who can organise a team properly?

And you think he's better Silver baggie, doesn't sound like you.

Me too

I believe that Rodgers was the man who started to get Swansea City playing like and thinking like a Premier team.

Pool's problems are that last season they were too reliant on Suarez and aren't scoring enough goals without him.

I presume that these last few posts are 'theoretical'? I know that the press are AGAIN trying to ratchet up the pressure on Rodgers but, come on - SERIOUSLY?? If they're even thinking of getting rid it would be an absolute joke; over reliance on Suarez or not, he did wonders last year!

(Oh, and even if they DID part company would he jump straight across to us? I know WE all think we're something pretty special, and I know Roy came here to lick his wounds but Rodgers is a completely different kettle of fish Blush )

On AI - a couple of different players into the starting XI, a couple of good performances with a little more adventure and we'll all be saying he's a good wee chappie - like we* were a few weeks ago!
I know we've had a few toothless showings recently, but we've also had a few glimpses of slick movement and passing in our best traditions in the games before; IMO things aren't as dire as they could be! Look at the way Pardew has turned things round.

Reading this board (and others) it's as though the Southampton, Spurs, Burnley, Man Utd and Leicester games never happened.

Was it not nailed on that we would win some games this year, we would lose some games, we would play like champions one week and like relegation fodder other weeks?

How long will it take for supporters to accept the above. Currently there is only Burnley, Toon, Saints and Chelsea bucking the trend. All other clubs are playing well below what their fans think.

What would we be saying if we were Stoke and had just been beat at home to Burnley, or if we were Liverpool after getting pummelled by Palace or even Leicester and not scored for 5 weeks?

We lost to an 'on fire' Newcastle side and lost away at run-away leaders Chelsea, with 10 men.

We need to keep some perspective here. Relegation might just do us good.

Have to say fully agree with this (other than the relegation bit at the bottom, i think if we go down we'll massively struggle to come back).

AI's biggest problem is that no-one wanted him and people still think we can do better for a manager.

From what I’ve seen obviously it’s disappointing that there’s never a plan B no matter who we play we sit back and catch them on the counter. Obviously the big problem with this is that if you concede you have to wait for the opposition to slip up to get back into the game but whilst its still 0-0 both teams still have a chance of winning no matter who you’re playing.

The big problem is that we can all see that AI doesn’t rate certain players and so won’t play them, leaving very few options and very few formations and tactics. This may be the reason for the no plan B, he just doesn’t have the options, people will say Blanco and Varela etc, but what do people want, them to play and we get smashed? I mean they couldn’t even beat Bournemouth how will they do at Chelsea?
