Have you been taking radical pills, tidy?
Most people wouldn't call Derek McInnes 'useless' or Pepe Mel an 'idiot'.

I think mcinnes is overrated as a coach. While rangers were out the league he should have won more trophies on the budget he had,his record in Europe is also shocking. He has shown tactical naivety time and again,a lack of a plan B, a complete inability to use subs to change a game, and complete failure to lay a glove on Celtic during his tenure.... in fact Rodgers has schooled him completely every time they have met. That's the kind of calibre of coach west brom should be after. His style of play is pretty dull too, after pulis surely you want to go for someone more exciting ? I think WBA can do better than mcinnes, I just don't see him being considered at all with some of the options available and the money that is in the premiership. just an opinion though.

The head coach is gone. The feeding frenzy to replace him begins.
Suggestions emerge from the swamp that football precariously floats on. Can you be addicted to optimism? This one has a name that a panel of linguists would stumble over and a pedigree gained in a league played half way up some Himilayan mountain; this one is so suitable we would win United Nations approval if appointed; this one is so difficult to hire he must be the golden one, etc, etc… Hello out there..It really, really, really doesn’t matter at all. The manager/head coach’s contribution is a zero sum one. As many times as they select the right team they select the wrong one. For all their words of praise they have as many words of discouragement. At any point in time, any league will show those at the top and those at the bottom, This proves that half of ALL managers are currently failing. So why invest so much faith in their abilities? I seriously think a case could be made to hire them based just on the length of their arms…after all its waving them about on the touchline during a game that defines them. We need a real knuckle dragger out there. It matters not what language he (or she) yells at the players…they don’t listen. Hire who you like but remember…they don’t play. Get an orangutang from Chester zoo and put it on the bench..use the money saved to buy another player…somebody who can ACTUALLY make a difference.

Thanks Jim, that's a really honest appraisal and I'll certainly how to your better knowledge than mine on the SPL as I spend my time going to games in the Scottish lower leagues (for fun, although that sounds strange). I suppose I'm attracted to him because he's not one of the other names which are desperately uninspiring and the usual suspects.

Jeremy Peace mostly did different to what was reported in the media as fact. It was only Tony Pulis where it followed the early reports.
RDM - Irvine reported as set to take over. Next day RDM is appointed. Hodgson - Hughton set to be appointed. Next day Hodgson was appointed. Clarke - Ralf Rangnick to be appointed. Next day Clarke was appointed. Mel - Thomas Schaaf set for job. Half a day later Mel was appointed. Irvine - I forget who the reported favourite was but Irvine came out of the left field on the day he was appointed. I hope Williams does the same and doesn't appoint Sam Allardyce who is currently the media favourite. I don't have much against Allardyce (apart from his dodgy character and aspects of his football idelogy) but I feel that he isn't the right man for this club in the long term. I could stomach it until the end of the season like he did with Palace but no more than that. The club needs fresh ideas and input and in my opinion Sam Allardyce isn't going to give us that in the long term.

John Percy's latest article:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017...ony-pulis/ I don't know about the rest of you but I quite like Alan Pardew. He might be a bit of a twat and has had issues in the past because of it but he is an experienced Premier League manager and he likes his team to play football on the floor. He had a 40% win rate during his time there which is higher than Roy Hodgson's during his time at Albion. |
