LAST MATCH

So Monks final game in charge at Hillsborough ends in a 0-0 draw, kind of fitting in a way. Not too many chances for either team in the first half, so onto the 2nd. We started on the front foot and had a number of chances but there keeper was in the right place every time as we actually put shots on target. Millwall had a few chances at the other end but couldn't find the target. We had one final chance in injury time but there keeper again made the save.

THE MATCH

So a new era begins (AGAIN) as Tony Pulis has a go at raising this sleeping giant. He starts off at Preston who are awful at home this season, Played 6 Lost 6, which usually means bad news for us. They are managed by Alex Neil and he will be desperate to change there home fortunes around, as they are pretty good away from home. Preston seem to get a lot of penalties, probably because they fling themselves to the floor most of the time, hopefully Odubajo is nowhere near the team on Saturday!

Again the third from bottom of the premiership will play off against the third in the table from the Championship to keep even more excitement going, they will have to predict through all the Playoffs and the winner obviously takes their place in the Premier League the following season   Thumb up

Beefy, Bomber, Zinman & SCO   Thumb up

If you do not predict,...........
If in your league everyone scores above zero you will receive Zero points,
However if in your league the person with the lowest score is below Zero (eg -4) you will score -5 and receive your first strike, Remember 3 strikes and you're out.

All scores must be in before MIDDAY SATURDAY,(For The Early Kick Off If Applicable) If the early kick off is missed the rest of your predictions must reach us by 2.45pm or none will be counted.

Israel v Scotland, Wed 18 November
Posted by: 0762 - 16-11-2020, 15:00 - Forum: International Matches - Replies (5)

This final NL group away match suddenly becomes more important for Scotland after Czechoslovakia won their home match last night v Israel by a single goal. They are now 1 pt behind Scotland and the guys, Clarke's best team, must win this match and dispel any doubt re the Czechs "nicking" this group B2 just at the conclusion of the campaign. I think they will beat Slovakia as Scotland should've done last night!! The benefits of winning group B2 could be really beneficial for Scotland and I'm sure Clarke realises that fact as well. C'mon Scotland! IMO our revised defence should be stronger with Tierney replacing Robertson.

HTAFC Prediction League 2020/21 Matchday 12
Posted by: Lord Snooty - 15-11-2020, 23:58 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (19)

2 points for a correct result
4 points for a correct score
2 points for each correct scorer
Correct joker doubles your score   Laugh
Wrong joker result gives you minus 2
Correct Random Badger gives you 2 points Badger

The random badger Badger is used for any random prediction used once in each matchday sequence. For instance, a scorer at a particular match, the number of red cards in the matches or yellow cards or own goals or owt you want really within reason, I do need to be able to check whether it's correct or not. Please don't put stuff like....."Commentator says...."  Rolleyes
The joker  Laugh is played for one match in each sequence and if correct you get double points. So if you've predicted 1-0 and it finishes 2-0, you get 4 pts, but if you've predicted 2-0, that's 8 pts. But if you get it wrong, it's minus 2.
Jokers and badgers are optional. You don't have to play one if you don't want.

Cup games:
In the event of a draw, it's half the points if you've predicted a draw when it gets to 90 mins and the full points if it's still a draw after extra time. Half the points will be awarded for correctly predicting the winner of the match if it goes to penalties.

Random score generator: I will be using the random score generator again for those who miss predicting, so we shouldn't get some people too far behind that after missing a couple of weeks they lose all interest, because I know it's not easy getting on here every week.
To be fair to everybody, this is going to be like, say if three people in one week miss their predictions, the first one in the table will be given all 0-0, the second one down the line will get 1-0 and the third will get 0-1 and so on, like if there's four missing the 4th will get 1-1, then 5th 2-1, 6th 1-2. and if there are so many missing, might as well pack in. Wink
And if you miss two weeks on the trot, I'll stop until you come back on again. Not doing it for half a season like I did t'other year.  Rolleyes

Slovakia v Scotland, Sun 15 Nov - World Cup quali an added bonus?
Posted by: 0762 - 15-11-2020, 15:28 - Forum: International Matches - Replies (3)

Nations League business this time for Scotland and could there be a "double whammy" of success for the guys with a good chance of World Cup qualification if another win notched up? Slovakia will be buoyant as well after their Euro quali success v Northern Ireland. But how much "gas will remain in the tanks" of both teams after recent exertions? I expect Steve Clarke to change the team for that very reason and give other aspiring Scot players a chance to impress him. Scotland are top of their group and unbeaten in nine consecutive matches - at last, we have success coupled with a real positive momentum, belief and camaraderie within this squad. I'll be very disappointed if we don't get a positive result this afternoon. C'mon Scotland!! Thumb up

  Row Z sometimes

Well, well, well.

Carlisle unbeaten at home in the league this season and Cheltenham having lost their last two away games... Guess the result?

You would be wrong again.
In this season of totally unpredictable results as the Robins eventually ran out 2-1 winners; all goals coming in the first half.
The good news was that we welcomed back between the sticks Scot Flinders following his broken leg, as Albion loanee Josh Griffiths was on call with England's under 20 side.

The bad news (for me) was that yet again EFL's iFollow stream was not working at the start of the match. Incidently EFL I still haven't received my refund for the earlier debacle.
Paying £10 just to listen to it on local radio is not my idea of fun. Eventually someone must have put the plug in the right hole but by then I had missed the first goal scored by Boyle after 15 minutes. The live feed finally emerged in time to see the Robins awarded a penalty after 35 minutes. Thomas converted as he usually does to give the Robins a deserved cushion. Unfortunately that lead was cut in the last minute of time added on as the first half closed.

The second half saw a very determined Robins side battling away but it looked at times as if there would be an inevitable equaliser.
The Robins had a couple of chances to restore their previous two goal lead as they hit back on the break. The chances went abegging.

Why the headline you may ask?

Well in the closing stages there were several instances where Robin's defenders were pussyfooting about in their own penalty area.
I know that Manager Mike Duff likes to see his side pass it out from the back but, there were times when hacking the bl..dy thing into row Z would have been the better option. Doh

so many on here believe in false rumours and dickheads that post "in the know" on twitter
sacking our manager would be suicidal to the club
so we had a bad start to the season, what did you expect?
social media is a scourge cause so many take what they read on it as fact

get ya head straight morons  if i believed everything i read on social platforms i would be supporting a club without a manager

we have a manager
we have a team we follow through thick and thin

enough of this "well i saw it on twitter so it must be true"

get a grip

Sheridan ditches Wigan for Swindon.

They deserve each other.

There are so many roundabouts on the way out he'll never get home when he's had a drink, which is always.

So he ditched Waterford for Wigan who were being attacked by their owner, and now he ditches penniless Wigan for the silicon desert of Swindon.

And football managers wonder why clubs give them no loyalty ..........

Can he get another club in before Christmas? And who interviews him for these positions. Don't they notice he can barely speak? Obviously he was afraid Wigan wouldn't be able to pay him off after he was sacked.
