Listenetd to the game but really didn't care that much when we conceded. I really want the Dementor gone before 45 years of support is made irrelevant.

His comments yesterday about having been an interesting club to manage suggest he knows he's going. Thank goodness.

Bournemouth fan in peace here.

Firstly I'd just like to say that the away support yesterday from you guys was first class, unfortunately for you though the football wasn't anywhere near as good although I thought Evans in particular looked very impressive and you'll do well to hang on to him.

Berahino has got to be one of the most overrated players ever to have graced the Premier League. If you'd had another forward taking the chances he got presented with, you might have been taking the 3 points yesterday. He had one golden chance that Boruc saved when really he should have scored, and missed two headers by my count. You should have sent him packing to Stoke from that display yesterday.

In the end though it was a game that had 0-0 written all over it and we were somewhat lucky with our goal.

Anyway, looking forward to coming to the Hawthorns for the next game. The fanzone thing you guys have is excellent before the games and it's a cracking away day.

Up the cherries!  Thumb up

Watched as a guest in a box. Was supposed to be elsewhere hence last minute decision. Will be a miserable day in the office tomorrow for sure. Never been a fan of his from the time he managed Bournemouth and he can't go soon enough.

About an hour ago I was talking to a mate who is a staunch Wrexham supporter..."So how did you get on yesterday?"
"We were so bad we booed them off the field!" "Oh, so how many did you loose by?" "We didn't, we WON 1-0!!!!"
Not quite at that stage are we?

Berahino is far from overrated. He was one of the best strikers in the league when he came through. He makes great runs, is two footed and was a good finisher. If you Youtube some of his goals, you'll see exactly what I mean. There's very few strikers with his technique with both feet.

He isn't playing well at present, but it's not helped by the fact we don't have a player who can pick a pass and put him through. If he goes to a side who actually have midfielders who thread a ball, gets his head right and is deployed as an out and out striker; he has the potential be world class. Although he's never going to do it here now, so you're right, we might as well have cashed in...

Overall was a poor game, but the goal was the one moment of quality, so on that basis I guess it was deserved.

Hi Slick

I think to be fair to Cherries Fan, he's probably right in his assertion that Berahino is overrated, based upon what he's seen and what we've also experienced. I agree that you can You Tube a collection of his finest moments but these are some time ago, bearing in mind his short career. For the last 12+ months, his performances have been wretched and his contribution to the Albion has been negligible. In all honesty, when you say "he isn't playing well at present", that could have been said for more than a season and he's only 23 years old, so a substantial period of his career. Like you, I think he has demonstrated tremendous ability but that's a pretty distant memory now and, if you were seeing him now as a non Baggies fan, you would not believe he was worth £2million, let alone £20million. Like you, I feel we should have cashed in. A few weeks ago I was trying to make a case for playing him, on the grounds that we were desperately short of strikers but, even though this shortage still exists, I'd struggle to make that case now. Whilst the failure to buy a striker in the transfer window was a shocker, equally bad is the complete lack of creativity in midfield. If we had that, Rondon would get much better service and we would not be discussing Berahino.

For a striker Berahino is the worst header of a ball I have ever seen,

He missed 3 golden chances yesterday one why the keeper was on the floor Doh

Is he overrated

YES Thumb up

I'd agree he's been poor for some time now. As well as his own loss of confidence, I think that's also due to him being deployed in a number 10 role, where he's completely ineffective. Since Rondon arrived, his opportunities as an out and out striker have been limited to say the least and IMO that's the only position he can operate.

On that basis, I can see how people who haven't seen much of him in the past (such as Cherries fan) can think he's overrated.

That said, I think we can't forget the natural talent he has exhibited in the past and IMO that does somewhat justify the value that people are talking about. This is a young English striker that has already netted Premier League goals against Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal; many of which he created himself. He's a player who makes great runs off the shoulder of the centre half but can also score screamers from outside of the box.

Yesterday he had a rare chance there and despite our midfield being without any creativity whatsoever, so still managed to sniff out a couple of chances. Unfortunately it's just not going for him at the moment... And I get the feeling it is never going to go for him in a Baggies shirt...

That's why we made the mistake not cashing in. It's not because he's overrated or talentless, because he's shown huge potential to be world class. But simply because his head isn't right and he just doesn't fit our current style. If he gets himself fit, I can see him doing well if he goes to a side with a few midfielders who can actually slip balls through to him.
