Not a strong enough hand to their 1st two pks hibeejim and their 4th pen/trickle off both our posts was an absolute sickener - IMO fated to be that way!! Laidlaw's last secs 'fingertip save' from that raking Larsson shot was magnificent and I hoped that it had turned the game in our favour!! Unfortunately Virtanen's ER blunder has kinda spoilt tonight's epic victory a wee bit - it could've been much more for us. I must also praise Paul Hanlon who was a 'rock' in Hibs team tonight - a solid 'sweeper' personified!

Fair enough mate.
He's a youngster though, and I think he can take lots from this.
Bring back the roly poly goalie and all will be forgotten lol!!! Happy days/memories eh!! We move on to more serious business shortly and Lenny does indeed look like he knows what he's doing! For example, bringing on Martin Boyle for the injured David Gray was a correct, positive move by him in trying to win this match inside 90 mins.

Hanlon had a great game yer right.
Manager was on the beeb there saying gray will be out for a couple of weeks but its nothing serious. Good news. We have had a good work out against a side better than anything we will face this season in the league and should have won. Couple of friendlies now for lennon to fine tune things before the big kick off. Im really excited for the season ahead, the manager is already making his mark on this group of players. Very poor so far even though the Dons and the Hoops managed to progress to their respective next Euro qualifying round! Bear in mind without celtics co-efficient points we would be down from 17 to 5, ranked alongside luxembourg and latvia. Thats really where we are at the moment, scary stuff.
I listened to Billy Broon on bbc radio Scotland and he questioned why we're still surprised by news of these shock results because it's not new as it's clear that Scottish footie does indeed lack quality these days and the top league is very poor - the historical poor results don't lie!! I tend to concur with that view and have been critical of the poor general standard of the game for a long time. Broon suggested Scottish clubs revert back to the traditional way we used to play footie but I'm not sure that will improve our lot when quality, the lack of proper finance and the lack of decent players are the issues that need to be redressed!

That's a well okay result. Penalties are a sick way to lose any match. Brondby are decent. I'm glad you lads aren't being fooled into thinking it's another bad Scottish result alongside the Hearts debacle. That sort of result would win you your league easily.

The hearts result is hugely embarrassing, they are better than that.

Following the likes of him, along with the governance of a corrupt, biased SFA have led scottish football to where we are now.

I wish I had paid closer attention to the downturn in the fortunes of Scottish football. I assumed it was a temporary blip and that once you threw a few sandbags overboard you'd start rising again. It hasn't happened and it's been years.
I watched Laura Muir last night, full of determination charging away from a top class field in the athletics and started to wonder why there isn't even one Scottish lad poised to rip up our, or even your, Premier League ........ There has to be the natural talent out there, it can't all be full of stereotypical fried Mars bars, or playing FIFA. You had better players when there was rickets in The Gorbals, it doesn't make sense. You were always a proud footballing nation, not always for what you achieved, but for the dreams the sometimes brilliant players you produced created in the minds of supporters. And now those poetic dreams have turned to heavyweight prose. Okay it is probably an English idiot's romantic vision, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Scottish kid nutmeging a galumphing Allardyce England midfielder and laying it up to a forward who throws in his Cruyff turn to baffle the defence before rolling the ball into the net. I can see that to produce those sparks of brilliance you'd need a whole bonfire of decent players playing in a competitive environment .... but the guy has to be wrong that you shouldn't be surprised by the Hearts result, you must be horrified ... and by Celtic's performances too. It can't be right can it that Division 2 players in England go up to Scotland and are quite successful in a Premiership? I make a joke of most things, but Scotland's too good for this. When Hibs winning but going out at Brondby really is a bright spot there's something very wrong. Maybe it's a political corner that needs to be turned, like independence, I don't know. I wish Hibs every success this season and next when back challenging Celtic and Rangers. Maybe that's what it needs, like Leicester in England, a Hibs just to keep on winning.

Our problem is we have no money in our game and we are going to struggle until we find a decent level of income
