4 centre backs, Craig Gardner and James McClean starting, timewasting from goal kicks and throw-ins, and 30% possession... against Bournemouth.
Alan Irvine made me embarrassed to be an Albion fan, Tony Pulis makes me embarrased to be a football fan.

Thanks to Ska'd for all his great match threads and even better photographs. We really appreciate your efforts.

Haven't posted for a while due to being away in Bournemouth for the weekend and I can safely say the only damper on the weekend was the football.
I've played devils advocate in regards to TP for quite some time now but the game over the weekend was probably the straw that broke the camels back for me.
Our selection and approach to the game was incredibly negative despite the fact we effectively had nothing to play for, other than entertaining the fans that is. Don't get me wrong, Bournemouth aren't exactly playing ole ole football that they were renowned for in their promotion season, but they at least set out to entertain the fans in the knowledge they were safe.
And they deservedly got the point that on balance was a fair result, yet to me it felt like we'd lost out on all 3 as we should be beating these newly promoted sides. Even Villa did the double on this lot which says it all.
We've got a very busy summer ahead, that's for sure; although we've been saying that for at least the past 4 seasons as well!

Baggieman, I suspect there will be several hundreds of ST holders not renewing next season for exactly the same reason as you. Very sad, and it won't be lost on JP and the board when they see what will surely be the lowest take-up in years of STs over the summer.
I just cannot understand Pulis's approach to playing football, and two stats speak volumes about it:
1. Defence - outside the top five, only Southampton (40) have conceded fewer goals than Albion (47). But that doesn't mean our defending has been better than that of other teams. We've been very lucky in some games.
2. Attack - only Aston Villa (27) have scored fewer goals than Albion (33). We really have lacked a cutting edge in front of goal and we've also lacked ambition in a lot of games too.

I will not renew my ST next season whilst pulis is in charge. I live across the Irish sea and it costs a small fortune every other week to get to games, a small fortune that I would gladly pay to be entertained. Unfortunately there in lies the problem, zero entertainment, zero attacking intent, zero to get excited about.

Good to see there was so much interest in today's game!
Just got in to see the result. Anyone who was there be bothered to tell us what it was like?
Thanks.

Missed the goal due to traffic. First half (what I saw of it) we were poor no pace, no control, no passing, no movement......just like most gamesthis season. 2nd half better - more chances and probably should have won it. It helped that we had our best centre half playing in the centre of defence but a sad indictment of Pulisball that we managed to field 5 central defenders during the game. Glad the season's over but sad that today was my last match at Albion until Pulis leaves. Given that I will probably move abroad in the next couple of years it could be my last ever visit which after 40 years, is painful to write.
