End of Season Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 06-05-2016 ![]() Gerry Byrne, Ron Yeats and Ian St John look on as John Kaye celebrates Albion's third against cup holders Liverpool, 23rd October 1965 With all of my time currently being eaten up, it's another double match thread to finish off the season, as we first travel down to Bournemouth and then face Liverpool at home in our ongoing efforts to actually win another match before the season's out. The West Ham game emphasised the desperate weakness and lack of pace in the team as a match which could have been comfortable instead turned into a counter-attacking rout; but then, these are things we've known for some time. The effort was there. The quality, sadly, wasn't, and hasn't been for a long time. The real bright spark was, of course, young Jonathan Leko; hopefully he may yet give us something to cheer about in this final fortnight. No pressure, son, but we could do with a smile. RE: End of Season Match Thread - Baggievicar - 06-05-2016 Absolutely love that picture, think I may stick it on my wall along with the club calendar which draws so many alarmed looks from people who come to see me. And you should get a club award at the end of the season for these match threads. Thanks. Amen to that, BV; WHO CARES about our lack of pace, flair and guile; WHO CARES about TP and whether he stays or goes, and WHO CARES if we even win another point this year..........Ska'd - you are our hero, well done again and stick with it!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: End of Season Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 06-05-2016 Another great thread Ska'd, hoping for a few more points and maybe places but for now we will be a division above villa for the first time in what feels like forever ...... don't mind blues or even wolves getting promoted but hope villa never return .... is that harsh .... well maybe but I don't care. I think TP will play some youth against our last two opposition and we will get a narrow win against Bournemouth ..... Liverpool .... they now have the Europa final and possible champions league spot , they won't want to risk injuries ..... I feel we could see daisy, Donald, goofy, Minnie and a few others in a Mickey mouse eleven and so can see another Baggies win ....... 47 points maybe eleventh place? I also hear voices .......... not really. Come on you Baggies make us proud ........ pride of the Midlands. RE: End of Season Match Thread - betterthanbaird - 06-05-2016 We'll lose to Bournemouth and beat Liverpool. Hopefully Leko will stay in the XI and Roberts will get some game time. RE: End of Season Match Thread - DanTheSmethwickMan - 07-05-2016 No intent whatsoever to win today's game ![]() Sess and Mcmanaman - our best two attacking players aren't even in the match day squad. Berahino also on bench along with Lambert. Gardner in midfield with Yacob and Fletcher. Olsson at the back, Evans left back. 1-0 set piece winner?? RE: End of Season Match Thread - baggietrousers - 07-05-2016 Ffs, another penalty missed, this time from that great ball playing creative attack minded midfielder. I do recall someone saying on here after sulko missed two that 'Gardner would have buried them' !!! Don't think so... 1-1 against the mighty Bournemouth!!! I know, let's give it go and try and win the game, why don't we make a substitution and show our attacking intent, let's take off the pacy winger and replace him with that great goal scorer Sandro!!!!! This is why we no one wants to watch us, not even our own fans. RE: End of Season Match Thread - valpayne - 07-05-2016 well finally lawro was right 1-1 awesome and yet another night after work where I wont bother with watching our death rattle team stumble yet again :-( Swansea tronce west ham, sunderland beat chelski, villa managed not to lose and bloody palace get a result which all ends in us sliding to 15th one step closer to my predicted 16th recently. seasons over and i've had enough dunno bout anyone else? liverpool will finish the misery next week and we will slide down that table a little bit more bored exasperated and sick of it RE: End of Season Match Thread - BaggieMan - 07-05-2016 Another amazingly poor 30% possession yet again with few shots at goal, missed penalty against the mighty Bournemouth. We are the most boring, disliked, slow, unimaginative footballing team in the Premiership and still the Pulis lovers think he should be retained long term. All this blind optimism with quotes like give him a chance and see what he does in the summer window. FFS, he's already had three ! It's odds on we will lose at home to Liverpool and end up in 16th place. Going forward? your having a laf !!! After many years of holding a season ticket and travelling 3hrs on each home game day and 90% of the time watch absolute dross, I have decided not to renew for the coming season while the Pulis disease continues to contaminate our beloved club.
