walter smith join ing the ranks o' rangers appologists in the media by claiming rangers were put down intae scottish fitba's 4th tier by big bad chairman o' other clubs and rangers and their fans shouldnae forget it. utter pish. looks like the newco din nae dae humility any better than oldco and will never accept it wis their ain financial shenanigans that put them there. the spunkfest in the scottish media wi' ex old firm players and pundits rubbing their members at the thought o' the bigot fest being reinstated is just a tad over the top and extremely disrespectful tae the rest o' scottish fitba'. ye could almost say normality has returned tae scottish fitba' reporting and every body else can f#ck off now weve got the old firm back

"There was no necessity for Rangers to be put down into the Third Division and I think that's the thing that will always stay in Scottish football."

FFS Rangers weren't "put down" anywhere. They had to apply to be re-admitted to the league after going bust.

Smiths a bitter auld bastard that walked out on his country, his senile ramblings should be treated as such.

Same could be said for you, Jim.

Walter Smith is 100% correct. We do feel bitter about the way we were treated. We do feel bitter about the gleeful witch-hunt. We do feel bitter about the lies and black propaganda spread by the anti-Rangers hate-mob. Why on earth shouldn't we? And if you were part of all that, you're just gonna have to deal with it.

In the meantime, we'll get on with getting back to the top of the Scottish game, and hell mend whoever we trample along the way.

Watched it last night on the bbc news hibeejim and it's all the usual spin - Walter was a good manager in his day but 'crawled out of the woodwork' comes to mind!! Doh  Never seen or heard anything about him for years and I'm sure most Scottish footie fans view him the same way - an invisible man! Cringeworthy stuff indeed and he really should've 'buttoned it' and 'let sleeping dogs lie' or at least put in some kinda brief pragmatic response!! As said in a previous thread - no humility, no contrition and it's no coincidence that these comments are timed in the wake of Rangers more positive footie campaign during this season compared with hardly a peep after all the failures of McCoist and McCall during the previous season. Agree GRFC officials played a huge part in their club's demise/liquidation and auld goats like Smith 'still can't get their heads around it'! It suits their siege mentality that they engineered from almost the very beginning when they finally realised that they were 'done' and wanted 'to be treated differently' because they were bigger than Scottish football - or so they mistakenly thought!! Cool
