Hooper had the ball as he was fouled & pretty much fell on the ball.
Think he fancied it as he was walking towards the spot with the ball but Nuhiu spoke to him & took the ball away.
CC said that he nominated Nuhiu as the penalty taker so he is at least partly to blame.

There's usually a pecking order. Nuhiu took a penalty v Brentford away and scored and I think FF has scored one too.

That's probably it. I suppose Hooper could've argued the importance of it. The lads must've been thinking about team spirit and letting Nuhiu have a crack as he doesn't often score from open play.
If CC assigned Nuhiu above all others for this designation he most certainly needs to wobble his head.

FF is ahead of Nuhiu & it appears Nuhiu was ahead of the rest.

Agree with stateside. CC takes the heat. Keeping up a player's morale is important and if we'd been ahead 2-0 I can see Nuhiu taking it. But, when the game is on the line, team interests should kick in. Hooper should have taken it. Anyhow, it's done now. Hopefully, CC will learn from it and not take such risks in a game as close as that was.

That's a possibility?
Even so Wallace can smash a dead ball!

CC was always going to say Nuhiu was the penalty taker. At this stage he isn't going to hang a player....how would that look for team morale ?? You have to create an us against the world feeling within a squad and by hanging a player out then others will see there are cracks in what CC says. Cracks could then appear everywhere. For me I hope he gave Nuhiu a bollicking for taken it.
Hutch is the spiritual leader and we are badly missing him at the minute.

For all his inability as a player, Maguire spoiled us with his penalties. He didn't just score every one but he never looked like missing. Unfortunately, Nuhiu has got lucky with the ones he has scored & CC should have taken him off penalty duties.
