Just watched the highlights and boy do we look good! OK so I presume they are our highlights but after all those seasons of shite it is great to see a team that can play well, even in the ipssing rain. Thumb up

While that is true, he blocked it and that was what made Scmeichal great - the ball kept hitting him.

McGugan is frustrating, we know he has the ability and can score a good goal but he doesn't have the work rate for our current midfield. I think we probably all have memories of him being head and shoulders above last season's midfield when he came in, a breath of fresh air if you like but his ineffectiveness shows how far we have come since then.

Nice to see the England u17s beating the German u17s in Portugal 2 - 0 scorer of both goals one young Mr Hirst in his debut also

Very good to hear!!  A lot of work still to do with him but could we just have a gem on our hands?? If so then let's make sure we get him tied up on a contract.

That gem should be moved up to the under 21s but protected . and im sure CC will protect him !!

Weve let too many talents slipp away not giving them chances the last 10 years !! yes they need protecting but yes they need a sniff of the bigtime aswell !!

Two or three we have thrown in the first team & it killed them so they have to introduced gently.

Also the standard we need now is getting higher so less will make the standard.

My concern is not playing him, he is only 16 and I doubt he is anywhere near ready for that, but we need to make sure we have youngsters like him tied to contracts so that they do not go anywhere else.

He should get a slow chance at the next level even if its in block release ?
