THE MATCH - SATURDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2016 3PM KO

Seems like only yesterday we were playing these guys at S6 and hammering them 3-0, well thats because it was only 4 weeks ago on Boxing Day that we played them. Not sure why the fixture computer does that but it seems to be the case for everyone!! At that time Brum were struggling after impressing early in the season and this was the game we finally overtook them on points not just GD. Since then they have improved again, particularly at home and now ironically we once again find ourselves above them but only on GD, just like last time. Well just like last time lets put that points difference back in our favor!!

This will be our 91st meeting with Brum and our record is pretty even at W32 D24 L34.  Our away record against them is pretty shite at W6 D11 L23, with us only winning 2 of our last 10 games there. Having said that this is the season of ending bad runs against other teams, so its time we got caught up with them at their place just like we did last season when we managed a nice win their with second half goals from May and Helan, enjoy the video:

LINKS BETWEEN THE CLUBS

Current staff:
From what I can see they have 2 ex-Owls playing for them:
Jacques Maghoma
Michael Morrison - Statesides favorite opposition defender!!! Big Grin

Past Players
Darren Purse, Steve Whitton and Michael Johnson all played for both teams.

Past Managers
Trevor Francis deserves special mention as the only one who played for both clubs and managed both clubs in his career!!

I am sure there are other links between the clubs, if you know of any please feel free to mention!!

THE LAST MATCH

After the disappointment of the FA Cup match we returned home against Burnley to see if the first team were able to rectify that result. We once again conceded early, why do we do that so often!!! As we have done a few times we managed a comeback and by all accounts were the better team in the second half.  We now find ourselves in 7th, out of the playoffs by just the single point, so we are still right in the mix!! Enjoy the video:

OUR TEAM

Slowly but surely we are seeing our injury table empty and seeing the squad potentially improve at the same time. Lees, Turner and Matias are all back in contention for a place in the team, or at least on the bench and we also have McGeady available after his substitute appearance for us against Burnley. CC has some interesting decisions to make!! Aside from that I would like the team to look like this:

Westwood

Hunt  Loovens Lees  Pudil

Wallace Lee  Bannan

Forestieri

Hooper Nuhiu

Lets attack from the start, especially as we seem to usually start so slow, lets get a lead and then push on from there!!

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

MS will hopefully give us the skinny on this guy in previous Owls games!!

The Bastard in Black is James Adcock from Nottingham. This season he has issued 47 yellow cards and no red cards from 19 matches, well below the average. Our record with this clown is:

Aug 15 - OWLS 2-0 Bristol C - 4Y
Dec 14 - OWLS 1-0 Blackpool - 3Y 1R (gave us penalty, sent off Miller)
Oct 14 - Leeds 1-1 OWLS - 7Y
Sept 14 - Birmingham 0-2 OWLS - 3Y (same fixture, last season)
Mar 12 - OWLS 3-0 Bournemouth - 1Y

P5 W4 D1 L0 F9 A1 Pts13

Maybe this is our lucky referee. Certainly our record with him in charge is good & maybe it is a lucky omen that he was in charge of this fixture last season.
