Didn't we create a chance right at the end that Kasper Schmeichel saved brilliantly?
That our FBs are being targeted because they're slow CBs is TP's fault alone. He should have addressed the FB problem in the summer.

Apart from the Rondon goal and the penalty we did get, what really good chances did we create??? I can't think of any? There were half chances like the one for Lambert at the end, and the individual bit of skill by Mcmannaman who bent it just wide of the post, but in general, we are too pedestrian and too predictable going forward. Leicester on the other hand looked dangerous every time they went forward, created more, and for that reason arguably deserved the win. My old man summed it up perfectly in a text to me last night, ‘pace beats sh*te’. Wonderfully accurate, and amusing, and he didn’t even watch the game!
The good old full back argument has raised its ugly head again. I personally haven’t rated Brunt for 3 seasons, he is a championship player that we are accommodating into the team for some reason, too slow for Midlfield, no positional awareness for left back. Although, credit where it is due on his 200th PL appearance for the club! Dawson, is a centre half and he needs to move on for the sake of his own career, as he is no right back and his game will suffer as a consequence. We have a world cup performer (Gamboa) and a Belgian International LB (Pocognoli) in our squad, FFS just pick them Tony! If they are sh*te, then let them prove it to us and we will happily shut up. I thought Poc was very good at the start of last season, and would have thought he would be Pulis’ cup of tea, but obviously not.
Morrison needs to start at home, so it will be interesting to see what Pulis does. If he sticks to 4-4-2, Morrison should play in the middle instead of Fletcher or Yacob as they are too similar and Mozza has the engine to go box to box.
I would personally like to see us play 4-5-1 formation with a midfield of Mclean, Yacob, Morrision /Sessengon, Fletcher, Mcmanaman. We sacrifice a striker that way, but Mozza or Sess can play just ahead of the midfield where they are most effective, and to be fair, I don’t see much of a partnership between Beharino and Rondon.
How Mcmannaman doesn’t get a start is beyond me?!? Every time he plays he looks a handful!
Would welcome peoples thoughts on the above. I will also post this as a separate thread.
I can't accept that we didn't create much.
A pedestrian team wouldn't have got into the penalty box as often and having 3 stone wall (in my opinion) pens turned down shows we did create chances. Leicesters players didn't allow us to take them by fouling our players and got away with it.
Their second goal was also offside.
If we'd played poorly I'd accept the result, but quite frankly I thought most players gave a good account of themselves and Leicester did play well.
Whether they deserved all 3 points is up for debate. I'm not convinced they did and Ulloa should have been sent off for our first pen shout.
Long way back at 2-0 with 10 men...

We had more shots on goal than Leicester.
Another incident of poor officials was about 5 mins to go when Leicester player gets treated for injury for a couple of mins and Scmeichal is having a stretch and generally pissing around so much so that when ref blows for him to take the goal kick he hasn't even retrieved the ball !!!!
Then does it again and this time does get booked.
Rumour is that the ref has been pulled for next premier league match....
Watch this space. Ain't gonna help us now though

Competent officials probably would have seen us pick up at least a draw yesterday. So would proper full backs. We seemed to be happy to let crosses come in and deal with the crosses when they come in which is where the first two goals came from. Perhaps it would be better if we closed down the cross before it reaches the penalty area. We would need genuine full backs with pace for that to happen though who can stop crosses and avoid being beaten for pace like Dawson and Brunt do when they come up against good wingers.
Haven't seen it again but I though Myhill could have come off his line for the seond goal as well. Although it would be helpful if the linesman did his job in the first place.

Every time the team suffers a defeat, do we have to go through this 'players playing out of position' and 'real full backs' argument every time? Am I the only one who wasn't impressed with Pocognoli? He seemed very raw and 'clumsy' (for want of a better word) although his commitment couldn't be questioned. He maybe would benefit from a run of games
I think Brunt has done pretty well this season, with yesterdays performance and against Palace (Zaha) the only games I can think of when he has really been found wanting. I admit the situation isn't ideal but still think Brunt is the better option. There must be a reason that Poco, Gamboa et al are not in the squad - and we are not privy to what they do day in, day out at training, where the man that's paid to pick the team is. They didn't set the heather alight when they have been selected. Again, could be argued that they would benefit from an extended run in the team.
No doubt there will be posters who say they aren't selected because they aren't a '6 foot plus centre half'. Something that has been mentioned in thread after thread and is wearing a bit thin now.

Borders Baggie,
Win,lose or draw it doesn't matter. Brunty ain't a LB and Dawson ain't a RB.
Yes, both on the whole don't do too badly but FFS we are a premier league team, why the hell was this not sorted in the summer ?
If TP doesn't rate Poco and Gamboa fine ! But why weren't back ups brought in ?
Anyone know the extent of Brunts injury ? If he is/gets crocked who plays at LB ? Chester ?

We all have an opinion on performances from both teams but to be denied two stonewall penalties and allow one offside goal, there's only one performance that had the greatest bearing on the outcome.

Fair point Squirrel but the window is now closed and Pulis can only play the players at his disposal. In my opinion,Brunt is a better option than Pocognoli. Is there a better option than Dawson at right back? I can't think of anyone in the current squad.

Agree about Pocognoli, he always looked like he was going to commit rash challenges in dangerous areas and looked very bog standard on the ball. The majority of his crosses ended up in row Z.
Didn't see enough of him either way to say if he was good or bad, but certainly saw logical reasons why he might actually not be as good as people seem to think he is.
Mahrez has ripped plenty of 'specialist' full backs a new one, so while Brunt isn't the best defender, he's not the first and wont be the last to be outplayed by Mahrez this year.
