Dele Alli comes on for his debut but why bother with only 3 minutes left to play???  England had this game won the minute they scored so why not give the  kid more time to get a decent run out??

Washington heading for a double win tonight if it stays at 2-0!!

Finishes 2-0, England maintain their 100% record against a team that park the proverbial bus for most of the game.  Another job done but its a shame we didn't see more fringe players get a look in tonight, see how they handle the pressure.

Washington is a happy man tonight with that result!!

They said that about Toto Schillachi but he won the World Cup almost singlehandedly for Italy on his one hot summer. maybe Vardy could do that for us.

I feel that players have been allowed to play more since Hodgson took over. He has given young players & in form players a go. We have got the number one seeded position for the Euros now so expect more changes against Lithuania.

In reality, we are not as good as France, Germany, Spain & Italy and are on a par with countries like Holland, Portugal & Belgium so really a QF should be our expectations and a SF would mean getting a fortunate draw and/or beating a better side. Unfortunately we always get carried away and expect too much.

Perhaps not as good as those countries but can certainly beat them in a one off tournament game.

Germany not the side they were.

France are my tip for the tournament.

Salvatore Schilaci was a gangster Laugh

Good Tournament 1990, MS. I remember that 2-1 loss England suffered against Italy.

That's when I fell in love with Cameroon, rocking the football world beating Argentina whom had Claudio Cannigia & Diego Maradonna in the squad.
Roger Milla, almost 40 years old and scoring a handful for them. Then that corner flag dance that has emulated ever since!!

MS. Sorry to be pedantic but I think Schilaci actually helped Italy to 3rd place, beating England in the playoff that nobody really cares about. Germany beat England in the semis and Argentina in the final.

Yeah, Schillaci got the golen boot for six goals as well as the golden ball for best player.

England got the FIFA Fair Play Trophy, for all that's worth! Gazza made the All Star team, Shilts didn't.

I'm quite worried that we'll get one of the other 'British' teams in our group and make a mess of that game. In fact, I'm just worried we'll show ourselves up, full stop (or period, if you like)!
