I've put myself firmly in the "Pulis out" camp, but I can see why people would disagree. Surely we can all be civil about this! Arguing over what makes a "real supporter" is the kind of thing you expect from glory hunting gits. Let's face it, to put up with some of the crap we've all put up with over the last couple of years makes you a real enough supporter in my eyes. Everyone on here wants what's best for the Albion, we just occasionally disagree on what that is.

And to anyone who disagrees with that, you're clearly an idiot who doesn't understand a thing about football!  Big Grin  Laugh

That is a sentiment I can fully get behind!

It's the "Pulis Out" nonsense from some supporters so early into the season that I can't honestly understand. It's been our knee jerk managerial appointments since Roy Hodgson's tenure that have left this club in the state it is now. I'm not a fan of the football we're playing at the minute but I know I'd rather have Pulis in than either Mel or Irvine! Both absolutely shocking choices for Head Coach of this club!

I think some need to go back and read my post where I said, "What a supporter." No mention of the words, "real" or "proper" which have crept in. Just an ironic comment.

Consider, 0-0 Watford, 0-0 Southampton and a lucky win against 9 man Stoke which we would have lost had they kept 11 men on the field is relegation form and judging by our pathetic team selection, tactics and dispaly, we will have a long hard struggle to avoid the drop.

Unless of course, JP gets pee'd off with Pulis and boots him out. Hallelujah ! we could celbrate then !

Really like us to be relegation candidates under TP just to prove you right, wouldn't you?  What a supporter!

My view is that it's butting heads over two polar opposite opinions and I can see where you're both coming from to some extent.

BaggieMan- I'd also agree that anyone who thinks Pulis is 100% guaranteed to keep us up is deluded, but calling 5 points from the first 5 games of the season relegation form is equally so. By that logic Chelsea are also relegation candidates this season. Yes the football frankly is shite right now, but we played 3 of those 5 games without arguably our best player and last seasons top scorer.

5 points from 5 games is borderline relegation form. That gives you 38 points over the season which is what Villa got last season, finishing 17th. Also, in acquiring those 5 points we've scored ONE goal, which was against 9 men! Even the two we scored against Chelsea, one was against a team 2-0 up and lacking concentration, the other against 10 men. Even more worrying, how many chances have we missed so far this season? I can't think of many. Saido against Watford, Morrison's penalty... Any others I'm missing? That shows that we're simply not creating anything which is highly, highly worrying. We're just not set up in a way that is going to create chances.

Thanks Will  Thumb up

My point was more of jumping to hasty conclusions based on 5 games into a season but there's no denying the attacking play so far has been dire, no defense of that from me at all.

Also looking at things from another perspective those chances you've mentioned that I've bolded, just think of how we would all be feeling now if those 2 chances had been taken. We could have been talking about a getting 3 points at Watford that on paper I don't either team deserved, and just how much that penalty could have effected the outcome of the Chelsea game. If Berahino hadn't been unsettled by Spurs and playing, I'd have put my house on him taking that pen and smashing it home mate.

And as for the Barcelona of Staffordshite, Stoke City. They're rock bottom of the form table. 9 men or not. We got 3 points, they got none.

BOING BOING!

Some stats to ponder.

The Baggies have kept a clean sheet in over half of their 23 Premier League games under Tony Pulis (13 - 57%).

No side have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League since Pulis's first game in charge of the Baggies in January 2015 (13).

I also read somewhere over the weekend (can`t find info) that for the last 3 or 4 seasons we were on 5 points after 5 games. Why all the negativity?? COYB DD Cool Cool

Spot on. Even TP professed to be disappointed by the performances against Stoke and Southampton, as well he ought to be. I just can't understand the lack attacking intent. We shelled out £12 million for Rondon and we value Berahino at £25 million, but our midfield is obviously misfiring. If TP is disappointed, it's up to him to sort it out. He's got plenty of Premier League nous and good players at his disposal, and I'm not talking about James McClean either. I think supporters are entitled to ask what is going on. We'll get crucified at Villa playing like this.

It's easy to make excuses but Rondon did tire on Saturday after flying 14000 miles. We did look better up front for about 15 mins when Berahino came on.
As somebody said the problem is the midfield who are not supporting the forwards. Firstly you have to say team selection is poor with Gardner playing out of position on the left. I really like Fletcher and think he is a quality signing but he has started the season slowly and needs to up his game.
Morrison needs to start and Gnabry.
Can't see us taking the game to villa so it will be another sit back and defend and not get beat show I'm afraid to say.
Whilst I defend TP and think he IS the man for the job at the moment, I can't disagree with the posters that don't like this style of football and think it is a awful that fans who have supported the team all their life are considering not going anymore. This can't be right can it ? Everybody has their own breaking points with mine being I can suffer backs to the wall defending away but not at home. The Southampton game was an away display and that's not on at home. Maybe against the very top clubs but no disrespect to the Saints but we should be taking the game more to them.
Although I do back TP and will continue to do so as results are good (if not performances) the split views on here are a good indicator of the feelings of baggies.
Am not gonna bother going to the villa game but spend the day with the family and come 5 o'clock check the result. Fingers crossed for a win and we can all have a Saturday night drink and a smug bit of gloating over those claret and blue b@?tards.

Just seen on sky Ricardo Vaz Te training with us as he is a free agent.
At 28 he might still do a job and seem to remember him looking lively for West Ham ?
