Our main strikers don't appear to be delivering the goods so far. We've only played two friendly matches and I hope that trend changes soon because we need our strikers to perform well in the coming season!!

I agree, 0762. For a long time now I've pointed out that our much-maligned defence is not the problem. They occasionally look insecure and lack cohesion, but in 36 league games they only lost 32 goals. Despite having the top scorer and 4th (?) top scorer, we didn't score the number of goals our play warranted. I'm certainly looking for an improvement in that area.

Yer main striker's have not done the business for years. What's likely to change?

Alan Stubbs has a decent mix of four strikers - Cummings, Malonga, El Alagui and Keatings. Throw Martin Boyle in the mix  and potentially 60+ goals could be delivered by these guys in the upcoming season and particularly in the Championship. Our early upcoming matches will certainly provide us with a form guide on how the season is going to unfold. Lets hope it's a positive indicator that will attract a lot more sceptical Hibs fans back to Easter Road.

Result - Ayr United 0 Hibs 0. By the sounds of it, this was a really exciting match tonight Whistle  with Hibs unable to score despite plenty of chances. No change there, then. Let's hope they're saving it all for the Cup match against Rangers this weekend.

Ayr Utd 0 Hibs 0

Stubbs starting lineup full of young kids (+ a few 1st team players rested!):
Oxley, Dunsmore, Forster, Hanlon, Crane, Fyvie, Martin, Stanton, Harris, Duthie, Malonga.

The manager is clearly looking ahead to Saturday's cup tie v Rangers at Easter Road Stadium!
