Wow, completely out of left-field that. £2m is not enough for a player of his quality, leadership capablilities and potential. Would not be very happy to see him go. Who sanctioned that?
we better have a bloody replacement lined up with that money.

How long has he got left on his contract? If its a year, then that's probably about par. If its two, I'd have thought it might need a bit more and would hope there's something else (a la Butterfield/Clayton) being done between the clubs.
Et in Arcadia Ego.

Wolves fans were licking their lips on the Express and Star website down here last night over this one. We seem to like selling players to our rivals despite Mr. 'oyles words to the contrary.

There was always a chance a good player or two might move on when a big wage offer comes in from a bigger club, its part of the game and if a player wants to leave they will find a way to do it. and sounds like Coady wanted to leave after Wolves made an offer.
town paid 375000 for him last year and got 2 million ( plus possible add ons) for him, that's good business.
Wolves just paid 2 million for a player with only 1 season in the championship in a team that finished 16th
i dont care how good he is or how much potential he has town have had a big clubs pants down again

I have to say this is the most dissapointed I've felt over a transfer out from Town. IMO this lad is only ever going to get better, I understand we're a selling club but I feel we've let someone go on the cheap here....£2million quid for our Young player of the year.
It would've been nice to have another season out of him and I bet you we could've easily doubled our money in 12months time. Hope Clibbo has inserted a 25% sell on clause in this deal because I'm telling you now if Wolves cash in before his contract is up he'll be going for nearer £10million than £2million

This means we have something we can either save up for someone we really want or that we can sign now eg bryne smith and possibly morrison

maybe its time for us to see what the likes of Billing and Tronstadt are made of, we've been saying the academy lads need a chance , well maybe this is the opportunity.

I think the likes of billing etc will get a run out in pre season and possibly take up the spare spot ont bench. They must be good enough or they would have gone by now

It seems fairly simple to me. Town need more money than we've got and this is probably the most efficient way of getting it. In an ideal world, we would keep our best players and boost our squad with quality signings to propel ourselves to a top six position. But it's not an ideal (or fairly divided) world.
I don't know the terms, but we could buy 3 decent players with that kind of money and another with any add-ons to come, so as long as we buy wisely, that's fine by me. If Town can buy or produce a future star like Coady every season or two, then that must be good business for the club.
