I wonder what odds you can get at bookies for Doyle scoring a hat trick on Saturday?

Harry McCorry scored consecutive hat-tricks against York City and Heckmondwyke in 1915 and Samuel Wiseall doing the same in 1897 in games with Grantham Rovers and Dresden United, but both of those were in the days when Spireites were plucky non-leaguers.

Reaching double figures at Preston North End means he’s the quickest Chesterfield man since Colin Cook in 1933-34 to do that.

found that all on my own and didnt copy and paste at all...*cough*

Going to have to try and get used to this site but the above should have read;
Careful with the word Plucky it upsets Pooch and who the hell were Dresden United - where they from?

Dresden United were a team from Stoke who are now defunct. Wiki is fantastic to look up anything.

Im off to Donny without a ticket like many others.I reckon there'll be at least 2.5k town fans on Saturday judging by the number of people going ticketless

I'm thinking about going to Donny on Saturday. I believe there is good times ahead for us and I also believe we could be up near the playoffs come May.

Have we any defenders for the Donny game? Or are we just going to start the three-goal comeback straight from the kick-off? And feed every ball to Costa?

If it hadn't been so racist I'd have called him The Decaffeinated Costa .....

But then I can also imagine some really bad taste jokes concerning successful strikes, Bomber Harris and Dresden United ......

So I'd better keep very quiet and do my duty in predicting another heavy defeat for us.

Be optimistic Devon each game is winnable we should fear no one. Every season I'm optimistic we will get promoted and if we don't then we'll keep at it till we do. Each season is like a journey and last season we were on the journey of our lives and its still continuing, Paul Cook has got us playing exciting, entertaining football, football which is on the deck and not being hoofed in the air. If we get to the Championship and last a season then so what at least we got there and can say we saw Chesterfield play in the Championship.

But what if the more pessimistic my predictions become the better our results ........?

I've spent 54 or 55 years waiting for us to even look like getting promotion from this division. Only under Arthur Cox did it have a semblance of reality. I'm loving the dream at the moment, but 14 points to me means another 37 needed to stay up. Everything Mr Cook and the team has achieved so far is a huge bonus.
