BREAKING: Chuck Blazer's testimony confirms that bribes were accepted in return for awarding the World Cup to France in 1998 and South Africa in 2010. We've seen the tip of the iceberg now. Full steam ahead, Captain Blatter.

Just to add, this has all the hallmarks of a standard FBI investigation into organised crime. They nick all the minor bosses and right-hand men, sweat them one by one until they agree to turn federal witness (usually as part of a plea bargain for their own crimes), and gradually build up a case against the kingpin. Blazer's the first one to squeal, but he won't be the last.

Quite possibly DD but, I still think that the awarding of the next two World Cups to Russia and Qatar needs to be re-looked at as a TOP priority.
If ultimately, they are awarded elsewhere, I think that there will be a huge sigh of relief.
The problem is that, that would still not bring justice to all of the foreign workers who have died needlessly while building football stadiums in Qatar.

Latest bombshell: FIFA paid the Irish FA five million euros to drop legal action over the Thierry Henry handball in 2010.

Quick question - why does your name come up as Ska when I reply?
Hope I'm not a willie (whilst apt) in the same circumstance.
If you know John Oliver or not (a Brummy on US tv) here's his brilliant report on it. Funny but hits said nail squarely on head
Before the World Cup
His latest report on the situation is unavailable in this country
(had to get it from facebook 'cos Youtube won't let us watch it

- and after suggesting checking out his interview with Edward Snowden my computer crashed (insert conspiracy smilie) never happened before)
That doesn't seem to work either but do some searching - well worth it (also his interviews with Stephen Hawking and Snowden on YouTube is awesome - sorry to go off topic)
Sorry got to dash, someone is trying to kick my front door in
I can go a step higher than Aston Villa
