Luke Says:

"The Finale! And as ever we start at the top and this week, we take a moment to bask in the glory that is Zinman's predictions.

Not only does he finish top of the final week with a score of +19, he gets points from 6/10 games (more than anyone else) and is also crowned predictions league Champion again!!

Zinman has been ever present at (or very near) the top all season. With the average points per week needed to win once again being around 11.5 points per week, Zinmans 26 point gap over 2nd placed Beefy is a solid one.

Also Zin overall scores points from 153 games (beaten only by Beefy on 157 and tidy on 160), of which 42 of them were exact scores! A deserved champion.

We must begrudgingly give credit to Beefy, who always finds himself near the top, and is a solid second this year, and wins his mini battle with Bournemouth.

Interestingly if Steve played his Gamball on the last day, he would of gone form 11 to 23, (finishing top for that week) but would of finished exactly 1 point behind Beefy! #InAWayHe'sGladForLessPoints

Back to this week and only Baggie One and Tidy hit the negatives in a relatively low scoring week.
A Cracking +4 on the final week sees harry finish above Baggie one, who had an end of season run similar to Newcastle.
Also Joker and Struth got hit a fair bit overall with a few non predictions.

I have a new Job as such as of a few months back so can't score every week now, apologies! (I have a swanky spreadsheet I can pass over if anyone wants to continue it, that works all the scores, you just have to do a fair bit of inputting and commentary Tongue)

Anyway, congrats to everyone envolved and thanks for your participation!
Boing Boing and Good Luck. Luke"

Ska'd Says:

"Fantastic to see everyone getting a positive score in the final ever Prediction League; Strollers tops the board for the week, scoring points off a fantastic eight games, but of course, congratulations overall must go to Bomber, who's truly romped the division from start to finish.

Thanks to all for taking part, and I hope that you've enjoyed playing!"

And so, having been one from bottom a fortnight ago and getting every single gamball wrong between August and March, I still pulled it off! Laugh

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all those who put this together every week. As I said earlier, I would love to see us find a way to continue this in some form next season and will help if I can.

I see that Bomber (Div 2) was the true predictions winner with 46 correct score predictions. Thumb up

BBB (Div 2) was 2nd with 43 score predictions; Thumb up and

Zinman (Div 1) was 3rd on 42 score predictions. Thumb up

So I'll take my runner-up prize, [Image: lightbulb.png]knowing I've beaten many a good predictor. Wink

Honours of course going to Division Two.

BBB

Ideas in a separate thread for next year should now be made - don't you think?

Agreed St Charles & BBB, we have to find a way of keeping this or something similar going, I don't mind giving some time, and besides, if we don't, I've won promotion to nowhere Sad

Seriously a massive thanks to "the team" your hard work is both recognised & very much appreciated Thumb up Thumb up

That's it prom to nowhere Bomber, cos a new game might have everyone in ONE league - what a scramble + it might finish at Chrissie time to start another.
It needs to get more exciting and interesting - new school. Wink Whistle

Many thanks to everyone involved in this and I'd love to see this carry on next year - I'll be happy to get involved when work permits. In celebration of my 2nd championship I can announce that an open bus tour of Lichfield has been organised, starting at the Whippet micropub and probably staying there.........I'm assuming that the prize money will pay for the bus?

Beefy, well done on coming second for a change  Whistle
