Taken from BBC website:-
Queens Park Rangers revealed they have begun legal proceedings against the Football League, a day after being relegated from the Premier League.
The club say they are challenging "the legality of the Championship Financial Fair Play rules", which could leave them facing a fine of up to £58m.
Rangers said any charge for breaching the rules would not begin until the outcome of their challenge was known.
Their relegation was confirmed by Sunday's 6-0 loss at Manchester City.
In March, the club announced losses of £9.8m, but £60m worth of loans were written off by owner Tony Fernandes and other shareholders.
A failure to pay any fine imposed could see the London side being refused entry into the Championship.

So what do we think will happen?
I personally can't see them refused entry to the Championship, but I would love it to happen.
I suspect what will happen is that they negotiate a massively reduced fine with the FL....maybe as little as £10m...but are then allowed back in.

I guess that will be very close to the final outcome - no teeth

I suspect they'll be allowed entry into the championship whilst the financial muscle of QPR battle the Football League in the High courts.

I would insist QPR pay the full fine, they knew the rules and either through ignorance or arrogance chose to break the rules, that is not the fault of anyone bar themselves.

QPR are a walking disaster, spent far too much money on shite players. Redknapp has to take some of the blame,he spent money willy nilly on shite to which they paid too much in wages. The only players that seemed to give two hoots were the older ones Hill, Green and say what you want about him Barton. Sundays whimper at Manchester City was dire.

As for the legal challenge, the audacity of it all. If they win any kind of legal action it could have far reaching implications for FFP throughout Europe. Personally, they've got a brass neck if you ask me.

Agreed. As bad as our friends up the A62 for trying to decide what League rules they want to comply with and those they don't. If Fernandes can write off a £60 million 'loan' he can pay the same for the fine. Mind you, the number seems to go up and down depending on which rag you read. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/...-Fernandes

Redknapp does the same wherever he goes. Brings players in on inflated wages (and sometimes transfer fees) which he then claims to know nothing about and leaves the club eventually a financial basket case. Spurs eventually stood up to him and showed him the door, but not before Adebayor was signed up on more or less the same silly money he was getting from the Mancs.

Was laughing at him the other day getting all excited at Bournemouth. He can obviously smell the brass being spent there too and clearly wouldn't mind getting his foot and a few of his plain brown envelopes back in that door. His dog is probably on the look out for a top up to it's pension scheme too.

Didnt Redknapp negotiate deals where he got a percentage bonus of all transfer fees ?

Not sure about Arry but Holloway certainly did at Blackpool.

As far as I can see QPR have to pay a £ for £ loss to FFP because of the scale of losses

Allegedly he claimed it went into an account that was in his dog's name. He apparently didn't know the dog had that account either until asked about it. Sign his dog on I say, Redknapp claimed he's that thick he can't sign his own name. Laugh
