I suppose it depends where you want to draw the lines and split the hairs on what you call "open play".  For example there were both Albion players and Palace players involved before Gardner hit the ball from twenty five yards.  Either way, if we are set up to play by successfully maximising dead ball situations as part of our current game, what's the problem?

Gardner scored from a half cleared corner. I'm just saying that it would be nice to actually threaten from open play - scoring any goal is good but our total reliance on set pieces sums up our great attacking intent. It does explain why we play so many central defenders though.

Well, we must be threatening to get the corners and free kicks from which you suggest all our away goals come.  Then it still takes preparation, planning and skill to score from them.

I don't understand your comment on playing so many central defenders.

Given QPR's white surrender flag performance at Manchester City today, what a waste their 4-1 win at our place was.

Thank God there were three teams worse than us this season. Under AI I really thought that we were going down.

A big thank you to TP for turning it all around. Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up

I'm sooo glad QPR are feckin off. It couldn't happen to a nicer team.

Hopefully the FL show a pair and promise to do what they promised.

Pity Bagpuss was no longer in charge but, I suspect he's too busy counting the money in his dog's Bank Account. Dodgy

There's a possiblity they wont be allowed back in the FL. They need to pay a £60m fine for breaching ffp getting promoted.

It would be fantastic to see QPR go all the way down to the Conference, but I suspect the eventual outcome will either be the FL caving in over FFP and negotiating a compromise, or - if they do stick to their guns - Fernandes just coughing up the fine.

From the BBC's Man City v QPR report:
Rob Green has been relegated four times from the Premier League (QPR twice, West Ham and Norwich)

....THAT'S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE!! Confused Confused

The FL had better not cave!!!  QPR knew exactly what they were doing and if it hadn't been for Derby bottling it in the play-off final they would have failed in their quest and the FL would have hammered them!!  The Prem needs to get in line with the FFP rules and any club with fines hanging over them should have the money stopped from their TV money.

Time to throw the book at them over this, others clubs are managing to stick to the rules, they should have as well!!

What is the situation with QPR now?
- Will they or will they not be hit with a large fine?
- Are there loopholes which make that unlikely?
- When will decisions be made; next month or after a full season in the Championship
