You get good and bad supporters following England, take my visit on Friday night.
On my left hand side I was sat next to a bloke who was a Bristol City supporter, followed them up and down the country and thought Grimsby was "like the end of the world" I soon put him right and said it was the end of the world. Anyhow he'd been to Brazil for the World Cup, he'd been to a couple of away qualifiers, he was off to a italy last night, already had tickets for our trip to the Republic of Ireland and had even booked tickets for our game away at San Marino even though match tickets or venue were yet to be released. He knew his football and it was a pleasure talking to him.
On the other hand, we also had a group of about 10 Londoners near by who started off by sitting in the wrong seats, then moved when others came to to claim them....moving into other seats that weren't on there ticket stubs, one moaned when he had to move again and then when his mate came to chat to him in the Isle and block the view someone politely asked him if would make his mind up about coming or going when his big fat mate turned around and said...f**k off you big fat c**t
I looked at Mitzi, I looked at the bloke from Bristol and we were all in agreement....dickhead!

Correct me if I am wrong but don't you have to be a member of the England supporters club or whatever its called to get a ticket for an away game?? If so when the tickets are sent out include a flyer announcing that every part of the england support will be filmed and anyone clearly engaging in political or religious chants will be barred from getting tickets in the future and their membership cancelled!! The FA can do more if they want to, they just don't want to. Plus the same rules have to apply to the Irish fans as well, don't tell me all their chanting is nice and innocent!!

To the FA it has always been a society problem not theirs. Signing everyone up as a "member" was them doing "something". A few feathers starting to get ruffled now that UEFA are handing out fines, stadium closures etc due to racist chanting. Points deductions and banning from competitions is surely next. Fine lines could be drawn between some England chants and those of other countries and racism/sectarianism etc. 1 mans 'banter' isn't always to another mans taste. UEFA observers reports are what most of the decisions are based on.
Given that the English FA isn't flavour of the month with FIFA and not too many in UEFA backed our World Cup bids either, time to get our own house in order.

Bad as it is, this is nothing compared to some of the things going on throughout European football.

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about.
F*** the IRA and No Surrender to the IRA are not political or religious hate chants.
The IRA caused untold misery for thousands if not millions of English and Irish people back in the day.
For the England supporters to tell a terrorist 'army' or organisation to go feck 'emselves is bloody alright in my book.
Anyone who feels offended by those chants must have been an IRA supporter/sympathiser. And if that's the case, they can go feck 'emselves too.

Irrelevant after 17 years Snoots??
Tell that to the families who don't have a son/daughter/wife/husband etc because of the IRA....tell them that it's all irrelevant. They might not all be England supporters but I bet none of them have a problem with those chants.
History and historical events have a way of uniting/dividing nations. A mere 17 years doesn't even come close to erasing the history between England and Ireland.
Just ask the Irish about Bloody Sunday....or the Anglo-Irish war nearly 100 years ago. Or talk about Omagh or hunger strikes or Brighton bombings.
I don't agree with any football hooligan who resorts to violence. Same goes for any terrorist for Ireland, England or anywhere else.
I agree that a lot of our stupid and idiotic England fans are just being hateful for the sake of it. I also think a lot of them have no idea about the history.
But to think that they are being irrelevant after 17 years of 'peace' is just naive.
