Definitely start Kane. Man in form. Get him in.

RE: International Match Thread - Lord Snooty - 24-03-2015

Sturridge out. Kane will surely start now.

Little Nakki has just tweeted a picture of him and his buddies training on the beach in the Bahamas.
That's nice. Smile

So that's where his head was when he was taking those penalties on Saturday. Angry

As for England - the U21's and the full squad might just about make a team between them once all the cry-babies go home with hang-nails, split ends, acne and the odd blistered toe.

Goalkeeper: Joe Hart (Manchester City)
Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton) (LB), Gary Cahill (Chelsea) (CB), Phil Jagielka (Everton) (CB), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur) (RB).
Midfielders: Ross Barkley (Everton), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool),
Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

They are probably just about all out of position, so if in any doubt stick Joe Hart up front against Lithuania but put him back in goal for Italy. Also can't really see Woy going for 4-4-2 in a month of Friday night kick-off's either but playing one up front against this lot??? Come on. Shove Sterling up closer to the front two or running a wing. Would like to put Welbeck on instead of Wooney too but that might cause a wee problem with having Woy's skipper on the bench.

That clot Greg Dyke says England might bid for the 2026 World Cup.
Surely not. FIFA wouldn't play a tournament in an established football country where the stadia are already in place and has the correct climate to host such an event.
Behave Greg man.

They also wouldn't give it to a country whose name start with an E and ends with NGLAND!!!!! Whistle

RE: International Match Thread - theo_luddite - 25-03-2015

Maybe they could, if Mills can arrange to take Septic out sailing on Lake Lucerne one noisy evening and tie an anchor round his legs. Won't happen while he's around deciding who gets what (and not just the finals).

RE: International Match Thread - SHEP_HTAFC - 25-03-2015

Find it strange that the England squad has 6 players in it who are all battling relegation with their clubs just now.
3 from Everton, plus Villa, Stoke (maybe not relegation as such) and QPR.
I know there are some injuries, but these players can't surely be on top form at the moment.
Is it because we don't have enough English players at the top teams?
And a lot of players in that squad are not playing week in week out with their clubs. Gibbs, Rose, Smalling, Barkley, Mason, Milner, Townsend, and Walcott are not certs for their clubs just now.
And how the hell does Jagielka keep getting picked? He was crap at the World cup, and has been crap all season for Everton.
Should have enough to win on Fri, but we will get trounced by Italy on Tue.

Yes, plus if we get many more injuries/cry babies he'll be picking from U21 squad and Championship players.

Not in the least bit surprised to find Sturridge managed to pick up an "injury" on Sunday, given that his long run of injuries all started when training with England.
