A really brave performance, something I think we’ve all been wanting for weeks. Great commitment and hats off to Taylor, I thought his performance tonight was monumental.

Don’t want to be negative but our lack of goal scoring, primarily through our inability to create chances, is becoming increasingly problematic. It was a great fighting draw but our inability to put the ball in the net will ultimately cost us

That's 2 points on the road in 12 games, things are looking up... Laugh

In all seriousness, credit to the lads for scrapping today. We were perhaps a bit fortunate to come away with the point with the Styles handball and offside decision, but at least the commitment was there.

After the Pompy game, I did think relegation was inevitable unless Ramsay was sacked. However, with that commitment I think we have a chance of staying up. We'll have easier games than Blues away.

Selection wise, that was close to our best XI with the players available. I am struggling with Johnston being left out though. For me, playing Price and leaving Johnston out is criminal. He's the one player we have who can exhibit a bit of magic.

And credit to Charlie Taylor for a man of the match performance. He's had a lot of stick from the fans but stepped up tonight. At his age, it would be easy for him to go through the motions and just take the pay check, but he showed a real desire to get a result tonight. The block on the line was phenomenal and the decision to pull back Gray on the break could've saved us a goal. Credit to him, sometimes you can't beat the commitment of a seasoned pro.

I am not sure why people keep complaining about Mickey Johnstone not starting, as I posted following the last game, he is suffering with a repetitive strain injury, 'Osteitis pubis', which affects the area above the pubic bone,he has been suffering with it for some weeks and trying to play through it, it causes chronic groin and/or lower abdominal pain. So I think it only fair to stop criticising Ramsay for not starting him, I am sure given a choice he would not even be on the bench.

I'm critical of Ramsey for not selecting Johnston because I think he's one of our best players. He's the only player we have with the ability to beat someone one-on-one.

And I'll remain critical of him, because I don't buy that Johnston is injured...

He came on in the 62nd minute against Stoke and the 60th minute against Blues. That means he's played over an hour of football in 3 days.

I don't think you play that much football if you're injured.

So while it might be true that he's playing through pain or carrying a knock, he's clearly able to play. Therefore, I think he's being selected on the bench for tactical reasons.

I believe that Ramsay is leaving him on the bench in favour of a more defensive option. Although Ramsay hasn't been here long, it's very clear already that he's quite a negative coach.

Let’s hope that the ten days before our next league match allows MJ to fully recover as I assume he won’t play in the Cup on Saturday. If he does pick him, I feel it would kinda demolish the argument that he’s not fit enough to start at present.
As you say, Slick, he is our most creative player and, when fully fit, should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

As an aside, plaudits also for O’Leary last night who has come in for a wee bit of criticism since he joined us. He had a couple of flappy moments last night on crosses but some outstanding saves; for those who remember him, reminds me a bit of Jimmy Cumbes when he first joined us back in the late 1960s… showing my age now ?

Cumbes is a bit before my time Big Grin

Early days for O'Leary, but he does look like a good shot stopper. I just wish he would catch the ball. He flapped at a few which looked like fairly routine catches, which was frustrating. But 2 clean sheets in a row isn't to be sniffed at!

Cumbes was a tall keeper but was hopeless on crosses to start with. Someone must have said to him “you’re a big b*gger, Jim, what’s your problem”. Afterwards, he went for every cross going and got virtually all of them. He became a really good keeper for us.

Well, here’s one very happy person! I thought they played as if it meant a lot to them and us fans, which after our previous games I for one was very relieved about, particularly as I thought we’d get thrashed!
I think the main issue is that we still do not have a decent striker, someone who is a ‘natural’ poacher and who can shoot with purpose. I really like Heggebo, but he needs someone alongside him (like above).
We’ll never agree with Ramsey’s selection, because we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors! For now, let’s take the point and hope we can get a little more belief in what we’ve got. Well done you Baggie boys, at least I’ve got up today with a smile on my face.

I believe it's time for us all to stop moaning about the players or Ramsey and get behind the team. It's time to ONLY praise the players if they do well and not even mention bad performances.
I also believe our supporters should be cheering on the players more and stop the booing, as that could mean a half a goal !! and/or the difference between winning and losing.
