Just done it
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

It was curious to observe the last remnants of departing Hertz fans who actually stayed at both main exits of the South Stand to observe the full rendition of "Sunshine on Leith" being sung by massed ranks of euphoric Hibs fans while the victorious Hibs players lined up providing the main observing audience on the pitch and appreciating it. One word to describe this victory: Payback!! Esp after that last secs losing goal at Tynecastle in the previous Derby!! And four or five goals registered by Hibs today would not have flattered them either, such was the slick, impressive manner that Hibs sliced through this stunned Hertz defence like a "knife through butter". There was definitely a pivotal moment in the 2nd half when this game teetered on a potential thrashing for Hertz in a match that should never been as close a 3-2 result as this one. Still, a win is a win and Hibs manager/coaches need to move on and focus on why this concession arose in the first place, esp when pushing on to opposing teams in such a forceful way is the better form of defence. So change it and strengthen up. Also a special mention for the young lad, Megwa, who had an exceptional performance in his right wing back role. He did very well until tiring late on in the game - totally understandable and he received a deserved standing ovation when hobbling off the pitch after such a sterling stint in his first Embro Derby. Job done! GGTTH

No visits from our Jambo friends today!?
It's just a shame we can't find proper winning consistency, the squad is good enough I think. Hertz aren't winning the league, the Glasgow teams have never been so pish but they are barely ahead of them. I think Bloom will end up emptying McInnes before too long.

One of the Glasgow teams will win it, its been that way since forever.
Hearts winning it would be like Sheffield United winning the EPL for you. Oh and RIP to John Robertson. One of the greatest left wingers in the world, absolute magician. He had no pace to speak off it felt like but he could destroy a defence with the slightest of touches and drop of a shoulder. That great Forest team relied on him heavily for assists. Smoked like a lum and drank like a fish as well. Cloughy called him "the picasso of our game". There can be no higher accolade. |
