And Owlkev .. sorry  mate , yer wrong , there wasn't, we came up against a Boro side out of sorts , same as we did at Derby , otherwise Derby would have put 6 past us..Maguire scored tonight says it all to me ... he's shite, but that's what we  look to
PEI, I agree NOOPPO is wank, May (thought he was gonna be ok) is wank, sorry Thurny, leading goalscorer or not .. **** USELESS, stop defending the guy , and have we got better ??..NO, and that makes it even worse, don't diss PEI for slating him cos he's CRAP

New owners first game should have had no bearing on this performance, the takeover has been going through for a month now!!  I am not sure what you expected from tonights game??  The first half we were not in it, the second half we were the better team, but I am going off the commentary and the stats for that.  This was not a big game, new owners or not, so I cannot agree that the players choked, they didn't play well and to me thats a different thing completely!!

As regards the Boro game or other wins, why is it fans say the opposition didn't play well when we win??  I think its equally as likely that we prevented them from playing their normal game or playing well rather than we just caught them on a bad day at the office!!

The reality is we have stood still for a while now but through a few key acquisitions such as Westwood, Lees and McGugan we are higher that most of us expected the team to be.  Now we have new owners, he is going to invest both in the infrastructure and the team but he is not going to do anything right now, he will wait a bit, watch what is happening and  then make changes.  This season is done, this summer though will be crucial and I hope the days of signing unknown strikers from Eastern Europe are done and we can bring in more established players to enable us to challenge.  Even Thurny agrees that we can do better than Nuhiu providing funds are made available, but at the moment he is our top scorer and has been playing ok, but we should be expecting better quality going into next season.

Which players do you think we should be keeping?  I think Westwood, Palmer, Lees, Loovens, Helan, Semedo, McGugan, Keane (assuming we sign these last 2) are going to  be the core of the team next season.  Add in Maghoma, Lee, Dielna, May, Hutchinson as probably squad players and you are left with needing at least 3-4 first team starters and the same for the bench.  The rest can leave for me, aside from Melo and Bus who I have nothing to judge them on anyway.

Westwood - 5 - not his usual self tonight IMO

Palmer - 6 - just kept going
Lees - 5 - let Rhodes get goal side for his goal (which was handball) but at least tried to play it along the floor when he could
Zayatte - 6 - don't know why he was subbed when the next player I'll mention was horrific Doh
Dielan - Angry Angry - what do you do when you've got time on the ball? kick it as far as you can into no man's land. And when you change to CB? take heading/jumping lessons from atdhe nuhiu Angry

Hutchinson - 4 -
McGugan  - 6 - no one willing to support him so had to try everything himself
Semedo - 5 - got injured
Maghoma - 5 - grew into the game and was wrongly subbed IMO. Put in a few testing balls but no one there

Nuhiu/Keane - 5 - both same really. 1st half little they could do so dropped deep. 2nd half were too deep so weren't in the right positions to get on things

Maguire - 6 - looked up for it for once, took his goal well
Helan - 5 - ran to half way then ran into Gandalf [Image: 1373469687_cultures-escape-bulgaria-gand...t-pass.jpg] for some reason seems unwilling to overlap our winger or run at any defender no matter how slow. Pretty sure I could mark him out of a game.
May - 5 - made some runs, no one passes. got in the box, we play it 2ft over his head

SG - 4 - shouldn't have started Hutch and should have taken him off 2nd half. it was 2-0, worst that happens is they get another, best that happens we score a couple and make a game of it. Wank subs AGAIN

shit subs (except Maguire), shit tactics, shit players, shit ref, shit linsemen assistant refs, shit weather, shit atmosphere

A few thoughts Smartass

The South Stand Lino, as Thurny said, was f ucking appalling, closely followed by the ref. Rhodes also looked offside in the build up to his goal.

The 2nd one should have been our free kick instead of a Blackburn throw Angry

Blackburn are very "professional" (or f ucking cheats if you like) in the way they conduct themselves on the pitch Thumb down

Maguire did well when he came on and seemed to add a little spark Blush played mainly on the left 2nd half.

Hutchinson was our best player on the night and managed not to get booked.

Palmer was abysmal going forward and not much better in defence Angry

Nuhiu played well and won a lot of ball for us when he wasn't being molested by the Rovers players Thumb up

We backed off the opposition too much and let them get the 2nd ball most of the time Angry

No one seemed prepared to shoot and we overplayed too many situations and ended up getting blocked out or going down blind alleys Doh

Stevie May is not up to it Thumb down

Keane should have taken the early chance, and looks like an excellent prospect, but I don't think it would have made a difference. The officials were appalling in their leaning towards Blackburn Angry

Overall, I quite enjoyed the game and can see a few plus points Thumb up with a different set of officials we could easily have won this one Angry

Will need 6-7 decent signings in the summer to make a serious run at the playoffs. 2 strikers, 2 wingers, central midfielder, centre back and a full back. Oh and a new manager please Mr Chansiri.
Nuhiu, mcguire, coke, lee, mccabe, corry, buxton, maghoma, mattock can all go. Madine will surely leave too.

I honestly cannot remember him doing anything of note. McGugan was the only one in CM who actually did anything with the ball

Shout out to the ref again who got in a couple of last ditch tackles on McGugan on half way and then almost played the perfect through ball into Rhodes. Did more than Hutch did all night

Just going by the commentary, Barry seemed more influential than Hutch did.

You'll get there in the end Thurny  Doh What most fans like to see is the exciting stuff and fancy flicks etc  Thumb up what most people who have played the game at a decent level appreciate is a midfielder who goes unnoticed by the majority but keeps the game ticking over. Hutch put in a number of good tackles, chased down the opposition allowing Barry a bit of freedom and looked for a pass instead of hoofing the f ucker into no mans land  Doh ie he was actually thinking about what he was doing  Thumb up
