THE LAST MATCH

So after a run of draws and defeats we have now won 2 games on the trot!!  If we could play Boro every week we could just about guarantee promotion now!!  We have 12 games left I believe, but even though we have found our scoring boots, its probably just as likely that we will lose them again, so its definitely encouraging to win these games but almost certainly too little too late for this season!!! Angry

THE MATCH - WEDS 4TH MARCH 2015 19.45 GMT

When was the last time we played a home game on a Wednesday night??  And given our name why have we always played home games on Tuesday nights anyway?? Huh But its back to back home games on the "mosh pit" as Stateside so eloquently referred to our pitch!!  Its also officially the first home game for the new owner, so what better time for the team to once again stick in a decent performance!! Thumb up

We have played Blackburn 145 times previously with a record of W55 D37 L53, so another team that we are currently ahead of, so lets extend that lead please!!  In our last ten league games against them we have W4 D4 L2, and are unbeaten in our last 4 games to boot, another reason to be positive for this one!! Thumb up In the first fixture at their place we came away with all three points due to an early goal for Lee and then a cracker in the final minute from Claude Dielna!!!

CLASSIC MATCH

There really can only be one classic game against these guys!!  Back to February 1993, we reach the League Semi finals and get drawn against them over two legs with the first game being at Ewood Park.  We were slight underdogs for this one so it was crucial we get a decent result at their place before bringing them back to S6.  We went behind after only 10 minutes but then played probably the best 20 minutes of football I have ever seen to score 4 goals and take control of the tie!!  John Harkes scored our first, John Sheridan got the second and then the star of the moment, defender turned striker Paul Warhurst scored 2 typical Warhurst goals to seal the win.  Even though they got one back we went back to Hillsborough with a commanding lead, and we went on to win the 2ng leg 2-1 just to make sure and we were back at Wembley in the League Cup final for the 2nd time in 3 seasons!!  Standing on that terrace that night was magical and is one of those games that will live in the memories of all who were there!!!  Nice to hear Big Jack on the commentary as well!!

POTENTIAL LIVE STREAMING SITES

Each game I will post the links to the websites anyone mentions on the thread.  That way its easier to find the potential threads rather than scrolling through all the posts on the thread to find the ones where a link is posted.  Lets see how ths works.

Cricfree Football - stole this one from Larry on the Rangers board.

WHO'S THE BASTARD IN THE BLACK

Ref - Eddie Ilderton
Assts - Peter Gooch and Barry Gordon
Fourth Official - Darren Handley

Got to say I have never heard of this one at all, MS will hopefully give us the skinny on this guy in previous Owls games!!

CURRENT FORM

OWLS -   UndecidedAngryUndecidedAngryBig GrinBig Grin
BLACKBURN -    AngryBig GrinUndecidedUndecidedAngryUndecided

After our last two wins and their run of 4 without a win we have climbed above them in the table again, so no reason why we can't consolidate our position above them by adding to their poor run!!

OTHER GAMES OF MILD INTEREST

Birmingham v Blackpool
Leeds v Ipswich
Norwich v Wigan
Newcastle v Man Utd
West Ham v Chelsea

Only 3 other Championship games the same night as us, so instead of expecting all you Muppets to get your predictions in before Tuesdays games I have added a couple of guest games from the Prem.

THE TEAM

After 2 wins not sure we will see any changes to the team, and rightly so!!  Hutch for Semedo might be the only one but I hope SG leaves the team alone while they are playing ok.  McGugan in particular seems to have elevated the team in terms of effectiveness going forward, ably assisted by Maghoma, so I hope he can take control of the game early on and we can get a decent start to this one!!
