Stoke City forward Emre Tezgel has signed a new two-year deal with the Championship club.

The 19-year-old became Stoke's youngest first-team player when he made his debut in a 2-0 FA Cup win over Leyton Orient in January 2022 at the age of 16.

He scored twice in 17 appearances for the Potters last season, both in EFL Cup games, and last played for the first team in the 2-0 Championship defeat by Bristol City in February before spending the rest of the campaign in the club's under-21 side.

"I've been here my whole life, I feel like it's my club," Tezgel told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I've sat down and spoken with staff here and they've made a plan for me and I think it's clear I just need to play football, whether that's here or elsewhere (on loan).

"I need to get the experience and grow as a player and this is the right place."

Following his senior debut against Orient in 2022, he also came on as a substitute in Stoke's fourth-round tie that season and then played four times in the 2022-23 campaign, all off the bench.

Tezgel spent the second half of the following season in League Two on loan at MK Dons where he found the net three times in 17 appearances.

The Potters academy graduate now wants to improve his physicality and speed and adapt to the demands of the Championship so he can nail down a regular place.

"I've not had a great three years if I'm honest," he added.

"I've had three long-term injuries and I've always wanted to do better.

"I don't think people have seen enough of me yet so I need to show what I can do, and hopefully do it soon."

Stoke City have signed defender Maksym Talovierov from Plymouth Argyle on a three-year deal and striker Divin Mubama on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Ukraine international Talovierov, 25, joins the Potters for an undisclosed fee after a six-month spell at Argyle in which he shone during the FA Cup upset of Liverpool and scored the opening goal against Manchester City in the following round.

Mubama, 20, arrives off the back of a debut season at Manchester City in which he netted his first senior goal for the club in a 8-0 romp against Salford in the FA Cup.

Talovierov and Mubama join Sorba Thomas, who moved from Huddersfield Town last month, as Stoke's three new arrivals so far this summer.

"I always dreamed of playing in England and the Championship is a tough but special league - and I know how big and ambitious a club this is," Talovierov told Stoke's website., external

After Argyle head coach Miron Muslic's departure to Schalke, Talovierov becomes the sixth high-profile player to leave Home Park this summer following Ryan Hardie, Daniel Grimshaw, Adam Randell, Jordan Houghton and Mustaphu Bundu.

"He plays with his heart as well as his head, and he already has valuable experience of Championship football under his belt as well," Stoke's sporting director Jon Walters added.

Meanwhile, Mubama, who joined Manchester City from West Ham last summer, has been given the Potters' number nine shirt for the upcoming season.

"Stoke City is a massive club, I'm excited to be here and determined to work hard, score goals and do everything I can to help the team," Mubama told the club site.

Stoke City have made their fourth signing of the summer after agreeing a one-year deal with former West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell.

The 35-year-old, who won three England caps, was a free agent after his contract with the Hammers expired at the end of last month.

The ex-Tranmere and Ipswich defender spent 11 years in the Premier League with the east London club, making more than 350 appearances and scoring 11 goals.

Cresswell was a member of the West Ham side that won the Uefa Conference League in 2022-23 - the club's first major trophy in 43 years.

His deal at Stoke includes an option for a further 12 months and he joins his former Hammers team-mate Divin Mubama, winger Sorba Thomas and Ukraine defender Maksym Talovierov at the bet365 Stadium ahead of the new season.

"I'm really appreciative of the opportunity to join Stoke City and I'm excited for the season ahead," he told the club website.

"I have been fortunate to work in environments of high standards and professionalism throughout my career. That's something which is ingrained in me and I will deliver every day."

"Aaron's career speaks for itself, both in terms of his quality as a player and his character," Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters said.

"To have played almost 600 games at the level that he has says everything about how well Aaron looks after himself, how reliable he is, and how much trust managers have consistently placed in him throughout his career."

Midfielder Wouter Burger has left Stoke City to join German top-flight side TSG Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old made more than 80 appearances for the Potters and scored five goals across two seasons at the bet365 Stadium.

Stoke's sporting director Jon Walters said: "We turned down an offer for Wouter on deadline day in January, which he was keen to pursue, as it wasn't right for the club to let the transfer happen at that time."

But, he said, after further conversations with Wouter and his agent this summer, Stoke have "decided not to stand in his way".

He explained Wouter had "expressed a desire to play in the Bundesliga" and added Hoffenheim's offer "represents a substantial profit" for the Championship side.

Stoke City have brought back Tottenham Hotspur's Ashley Phillips for a second season-long loan spell.

The 20-year-old defender made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Potters last term, and had been linked with a move to Championship rivals Sheffield United.

He becomes head coach Mark Robins' fifth summer signing ahead of the new Championship season, which starts at home to Derby County on Saturday, 9 August.

"Being able to bring Ashley back to Stoke City despite plenty of competition is down to him loving his time here last season so much, and a lot of work that took place behind the scenes to make it happen," Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters told the club website, external.

"To have him playing for us for another season is a significant coup."

Phillips, who is yet to play for the Tottenham first team, said his return to the Potters felt like "unfinished business" and was a "no brainer".

He joins full-back Aaron Cresswell, centre-half Maksym Talovierov, winger Sorba Thomas and striker Divin Mubama as new recruits ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Stoke City have made their second signing in as many days after agreeing a three-year deal with Slovakia striker Robert Bozenik.

The 25-year-old joins on a free transfer after leaving Portuguese second tier side FC Boavista and is the Potters' sixth new recruit before the start of the Championship season next month.

Bozenik began his career with MSK Zilina in his homeland before moving to the Netherlands with Feyenoord in January 2020.

He scored three times in 21 top-flight appearances before joining German second-tier side FC Dusseldorf on a season-long loan in 2021-22.

Bozenik signed for Boavista at the end of that campaign and has scored 17 goals in 87 games in Portugal's top division before the club's relegation at the end of last term.

Bozenik played for his country at Euro 2024 and has scored seven international goals in his 52 caps.

"He's a hardworking, selfless striker with international experience and the quality to make a real impact here," Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters told the club website., external

"We're pleased to have moved decisively to bring him in ahead of several clubs, from top leagues, who were strongly interested in him."

Bozenik's arrival follows Wednesday's signing of Tottenham defender Ashley Phillips with full-back Aaron Cresswell, centre-back Maksym Talovierov, winger Sorba Thomas and striker Divin Mubama already brought in by head coach Mark Robins this summer.
