What a goal from Berahino, I'd just got onto the stream but most the ads were still up, saw him hit it and then saw people running and celebrating, class player.

Saints don't look massively threatening but they're fast and talented so we need a second especially when we're not having much of the ball. Quite solid so far.

1-0 h/t...
IMO that half shows just why Gardner is in - loads of good, sensible, solid midfield play in defensive & attacking positions, using his experience well alongside Mozza & Fletch who are looking very impressive.

Brilliant half for Ideye, he looks an absolute handful to play against, and him & Saido seem to link up so well....and what a strike from SB again! Looking a £20m forward again, looks like he's really enjoying his football Smile

Very, very good defending in that half - strangely Dawson & Brunt looked lreally good even though Soton obviously fancy their chances against them.

Big 45 minutes now - great first 45 though with every player looking good & sharp Thumb up Thumb up

How are we playing BTB? Looks like they're doing us on the wings from the commentary on BBC Sport?

They've got into our box a few times but not made any particularly good chances, we're vaguely comfortable but they're going down the wings a lot without a massive threat. We're not having enough possession really.

Berahino down, not sure what happened, xxxx's sake.

Mulumbu on, we might be a bit too defensive now, but I reckon a point minimum. Ideye will be very isolated.

I assume we've gone 4 5 1 then? That might give us a chance of counter attacking and shoring up the wings?

Probably the plan but not enough pace to counter well, Sess and McMan will come on soon (presumably) then that game plan will be viable.

Riding our luck a bit now, the defence looks weaker if anything.

Yacob getting treatment, Sess on please.

Yeah -IMO we're doing the old mistake of sitting too deep; Ideye too isolated - ball's just coming straight back to defend. We need Mac or Sess on to hold possession

Sess on but for Mozza who I'd have kept on.
