If you mean by it's own cursor you mean touch pad - some are set up with supposedly helpful (um, normally they really aren't), features around the edges. If you don't know how to adjust or delete these features (they really are a right pain in the arse) make sure you stay in the middle of the skating rink for the most part other than the click features which are normally at the bottom of the pad. The pad will normally do what feels like a minor click. They used to put buttons down there, why they still don't beggars belief.
Go buy a cheap plug in mouse from ASDA (https://groceries.asda.com/product/compu...0370064353) or similar BBB, it makes life a lot easier. The wireless one's often use batteries like they are going out of fashion.
