2025 Summer Transfer Window Thread

Hi Blue, not on holiday, just not much to say as there is not a lot happening right now. A few rumours, media half truths and s@%t stirring.
Euro’s start on Friday, not much will happen domestically until that’s over.
There will be a lot of changes to our squad, there will be the usual manager merry-go-round, over the summer. Hopefully we will have a lot more to say and to look forward to come August.
Let’s enjoy the summer, hope for some England glory and come back refreshed and full of excitement for an entertaining competitive Albion pushing for the title and/or automatic promotion.

So we have ended our kit deal with Puma after 6 years and are now using Macron as out official kit supplier. Interestingly they are a company based in Bologna, Italy and also work with Bologna FC, a few other clubs in Europe and a couple in the Championship. Big Grin

Patel's letter although I applaud it for his openness and higher levels of communication. We have not enjoyed this level of engagement before.

But buying strategically for the future means we are not likely to know the players acquired and CC will need to sprinkle his magic dust on them.

It has happened many times before when we moan about the player purchased only to love them to bits come mid season.

But we need 12 of them.........

Link to ‘open letter’ in case you haven’t seen it https://www.wba.co.uk/news/open-letter-shilen-patel

We will see what the season brings but good to see he’s not hiding in the shadows.

I would be a lot happier if Carlos made a statement confirming he is staying. Why haven't we signed a single player as yet. To build confidence and moral you have to show intent.

I am sure you will already know this, but clubs do not usually sign players during international competitions and rightly so. There will be lot of talent on show and some of it, from overseas affordable, though visas are so much more difficult since leaving the EU and being an international player is one big tick in getting one. It could also be that we are looking at a player who is not at the Euros but their current club is looking at a replacement who is at the Euros so they might may not available for talks

I know what you mean, BB. The press are, no doubt, as clueless as us regarding the situation with Leicester & CC but that doesn't stop them from peddling all sorts of ideas, most of which are probably totally without any substance.
Regarding a statement from CC, yeah, it WOULD be nice to have but I suppose we've got to accept that he's ambitious, he's well regarded and will always therefore be linked with top level vacancies, and maybe to make a statement wouldn't be such a good career move!?! Reports do say - say, not suggest! - that he's in daily contact with the club hierarchy, so that's a good thing, and probably as much as we can expect right now

John Percy who is one of the few journalist who usually does seem to really be in the know, is reporting Graham Potter has edged in front of CC for the Leicester job, only question is, does he want it with the Premiership FFP charges outstanding. I think the real question is, shouldn't any points deduction apply to last season and not next though they have already said it will not be last now.

Now a lot of talk about Steve Cooper coming through the middle for the Leicester City job. Sky reporting it as a done deal.
