Part of me hopes they win so that it messes with their league form!! Their goal has to be promotion and personally I want to see them still in the pub league next season so that we can take advantage of our takeover and put more distance between us!!!

Not particularly!! Those derby games over the years have often proved to be catalysts to the winning team going on to much better things and the losing team collapsing!! This division is hard enough without having that to contend with as well!! I am quite happy to see them stay in the pub league for a couple more seasons while we try to put some daylight between us again by going up one more league!!

Also i would add, Sheffield football is a very strange entity. Both teams are about the same size, both had about the same success with us a couple of titles ahead only, and the city is pretty much a 50/50 split in fan bases, yet when was the last time both of them enjoyed any modicum of success at the same time?? It seems one does ok, the other flounders and then vice-versa!! Look back through the decades, the 60s we were on top, they were nowhere, the 70s we dropped like a stone, they had some glory years with TC/Woodward etc, the 80s was just about all us, as was the start of the 90s, they had little to shout about, etc etc etc. It seems history tells us that only one team from Sheffield can succeed at any moment in time, at the moment while we are not exactly succeeding, we are in a better position, I want to keep it that way to allow us to pull ahead for a while.

BBC Sport's Simon Stone at Old Trafford:

"A nervy start from United and their defence still looks suspect despite recent improvements."

When will these numpties learn that you can't say United are doing this or that when both teams are called United? Doh

They won't Doh they're all patronising cnuts Angry who think the whole world supports an EPL team Doh and are only familiar with the cosy club Doh and that the existence of other teams is a myth spawned by some heretic who wrote a far flung tale about the 91/92 season and even made up a falsified league table that didn't show the 'big four' at the top of the legendary 'Division 1' Whistle
