New Look Same Old Website

Maybe we need that miniature lady from Ionos - Aunt Helga is it?

Isn't the point of the web supposed to be being fresh and up to date? Not only is this ordinary and unexciting, but it took me about a minute and a half to find that the information isn't that reliable.

I imagine Jesurun and Ash Palmer are both in Cookie's plans this week. Shame neither of them is in the first team.

Teething problems? That national shortage of dentists has been troubling us for several years now ........

If you can't get it right off-field, don't expect to look like Brazil on it.

The new site is like wading through treacle its so slow.
The opening page of players running across the pitch in glorious sunshine with fake snow flakes falling down the page is a bit surreal.

Had a look at it on mobile. It's rather simple and gets straight to the point but the snowflakes animation trickling down the web page is rather annoying. I think they've kept the website simple because people get information via social media about team news and what's going on etc. I've noticed that they haven't updated the ticket website but there is no need to do that.

The colours they've used are good. Noticed they've gone for a drop down menu, I would say it's more of an improvement than the previous one.

Had a quick look, loaded reasonably quickly for me. Snowflakes reasonably appropriate as we had our first dusting overnight in the West Midlands, not sure about your part of the south Pennines but then a pop-up arrived in the middle of the screen with no obvious way of removing it without submitting your email address. How to piss off visiting fans maybe looking for info for away games without trying too hard? 10/10 for that one Thumb up
The snowflake that thought that's a good idea needs to give his dandruff a shake. Tell a lie, I finally spotted a blue X on a blue background - well, what a brilliant idea that is.

Thing is, we may not be good at it, but the website is about Chesterfield FC and we are apparently about playing football. If we can't even manage to feature all the players in our own team correctly, it's a poor do, as they say in Yorkshire.

A website should enable users to access basic info' quickly and easily AND give them access to something much more detailed not readily available on social media. We currently don't do particularly well on either count. The snowflakes are a bit annoying too, but it's hard to get angry with something as lovely as a snowflake.

Heavy frost down here in Devon, no snow in Totnes, but I'm there'll be some on Dartmoor.

I don't want to sound like some moaning old grizzled pensioner, which I am. Well not that grizzled! But I just think if you are doing something new, like re-branding a website, you should do it as well as possible. It shouldn't be an it'll-do job. And this still looks old-fashioned to me, although that is also true of most football websites, and all English EFL clubs. The report card will probably read, "COULD DO BETTER", but on the evidence so far I'm not sure we can.
