Southgate seems a nice bloke, but England manager, ICARUS!

If we don't beat Iran the World Cup will become the Nations League because we won't beat either the USA or Wales will we?

As to the next Huddersfield Manager - Theo Luddite has got the right idea, put him in charge of recruitment. Pete Wild has the credentials, and he might say yes. He might be worth the compo.

You had a lucky escape with Warne. If you rated yourself would you drop down a division, to a club which has been nothing but trouble for a few years OR would you think you were capable of the miracle of providing Premiership football on the river of failure?

JJamez is right you do get some good players who are brilliant managers. It is just that anybody with a big name will both be out of Huddersfield's reach and beyond the club's pay grade. I didn't know much about Ipswich's manager, but he's got them up top when a few proven managers (including Paul Cook of course) didn't mount a challenge, so yes making the right kind of choice matters more than just tickling the fans' fancy.

If we wait while the World Cup there'll be a raft of Prima Donna League cast-off's who will have pocketed a big pay-off and be looking for something to do at the weekend as a hobby job. Until the gravy train roundabout comes round again obvs.

Seen something we've missed jjamez?

it just seems to be picking up pace on twitter, oh and his odds have gone from evens to 1/10 in under an hour, sure a bit of money can do that but at the same time, it seems like something could be in the offing

also buhler's wife put something on instagram with a flight path from Switzerland to the Uk with a suitcase and a caption saying we're on our way... this would be about 10 hours ago...

I've seen that last bit on DATM, could be something in it, could just be a holiday break too.

Oktoberfest in Huddersfield instead of Bavaria? Hmmm. Must be missing the local curries.

He's back at 4/5 tonight - I'm betting on the curries, but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Fothe...ootballer) has suddenly jumped into 2nd place in the betting at 5/2 with nobody else under 16/1. Someone has edited that Wiki page to say he's got the job.

He did an interview with BBC sport and thought he'd be a good option as a clean slate coach with a preseason, IE instead of Schofield in the summer, but now, I'm not sure.

The same can be said about the likes of Carrick, Ferguson and Barry though.

He does have some things going for him though. He had a half decent playing career and worked under a few successful managers, mainly Felix magath. He's used to the set up that we're already using.

In terms of playing style magath favourite high fitness and high pressing. It was essentially a German version of bielsas murderball
