Prediction League Week 18 RESULTS!!
#11
Beefy/Joker - Sorry but lots to comment on here!
Firstly you are talking about wk17 with Sunderland v Lpool and its gameweek 18 where i have scored 17/18 i make it and not 13 ( i think the bonus ball has been missed and nothing to do with 'late results'. Please amend?
Secondly - i have no idea what is happening with time stamps but i commented on this thread at 21.00 bang on and it shows as 23.01???? Perhaps you and BBB can comment as you posted after me and i assume your time stamp is also wrong. The time stamp i have for gameweek 18 is 15.51 which is utter rubbish as i posted five minutes into Derby v Forest! Amelia posted after me and scores have counted.
No idea what is going on with timestamps - but for the record i have posted this wk gm19 at 12.32 regardless of what it says!

I'm going to weigh in on this as I did the Division 2 scoring.

First of all, when I did the scores for gameweek 17, I didn't check the times of the posts, largely because I have a lot on my plate and doing these scores is one extra job for me on an already busy day. However, after the results had been posted, the organisers pointed out that I'd missed that late prediction, and that I'd have to knock off the points for it retrospectively this week. The same thing happened to Bomber before Christmas, so everyone is being treated in accordance with the same rule.

If we do accept that the time stamp on the site is wrong (I see your 21:00 post last night as being 21:01, by the way) and that your prediction was in before kick-off, then I'll happily reinstate the 4 points onto your score for next week, but if I do that, then I'm also going to have to reinstate the 8 points that Bomber was docked before Christmas, because there's no way of proving that he wasn't affected by the same problem. One way or another, either you both get your points or neither of you do.

If there is something wrong with the times on the site then we're going to have to think about the deadline and how to judge it (this is mainly FAO Beefy, Joker, Luka & Harry) because we DO need a cut-off point somewhere, and we can't be arguing with people every week who feel hard done by because they've missed out by a minute. Ideally, I'd like everyone to have a bit of honesty about it and get their predictions in well before time to avoid these situations, because it makes life ten times harder for us doing the scoring, but that's not something we can really control...

SBG, I'm man enough to admit I'd pointed out your late entry, no advantage gained in a minute or 2, but I accepted the cut off time when I lost my points a couple of weeks ago. On that particular week my post shows 14.47, but it's simple enough for me to work out it was 12.47, the stamp is precisely 2 hours ahead, so your late prediction shows 14.46 instead of 12.46, just as last nights shows 23.01 instead of 21.01 not sure if some people see the correct time but mine's exactly 2 hours ahead, same as yours seems to be Thumb up

I'm seeing this as 21-01 also

Is the something in the user CP that can be changed to +1 or 2 BST or London GMT or something ?

Not sure if this will help anybody,

Go to user CP > Edit Options >Date and time options >

My settings are shown as user default >use default > GMT and correct time >Automatically detect DST settings hopes this helps.

Skad If its ok with you can you reinstate both bombers & sbg's scores of 8 & 4 respectively next week,

I will change the time of scores to be entered by 12.00pm irrespective of kick off times so there can be no argument then if their is a early Kick off,

If people miss the above deadline, their score for the early kick off will not be counted and they will have until 2.45pm to enter for the 3pm Kick -offs Thumb up

So its 45 minutes for early kick-offs, and 15 minutes for the 3.00pm kick-offs. Understood. Whistle

Lets just hope the late entries don't have the same problem.

FYI BBB Derby v Forest kicked off at 12.15 two weeks ago so 15 mins before the early kick off Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle

Here's an idea, why not form a break away league of your own next season, you and ......................................................... then you can post cryptic messages, running totals and league tables 2 minutes after the final whistle Dodgy

All - I didn't see the posts about wk17 and the issue of the time stamps, hence my confusion with the deduction from wk 18 which was all I as looking at!

If both mine and bombers get put back on then that's sound with me!

Sorry I have caused everyone grief on these stamp times - im pretty sure bomber is right and I have the same problem plus my laptop or timeline must be slow as im losing an extra 10 mins or so somewhere!

The answer is for me not to leave it so late so its my fault and il try and do it fridays rather than sat mornings from now on!

Sorry all again for taking up your time.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear! I was trying to help both you and Super get you points re-instated, and now you have also joined the girlies league. Big Grin
Incidentally what i do or don' t do on a break away league as you call it, has nothing to do with you ... or has it? Cool
