'The Albion way', which I must admit I haven't heard of, unless it means trying to win games by scoring goals, which in turn involves playing attacking football, in which case it applies to every football team in the world, is right up there with 'the West Ham academy'.

I loved my flares (with high waists of course) and tank tops.

As an outsider I too haven't heard of the Albion way but I am old enough to remember the exciting team you had when Cunningham and Regis were playing. Wasn't Big Ron your manager then, I ask because for me he took advantage of the players you had, got the best out of them and played the team in a way that set you up to win. That is generally all that any manager can do, point being when Big Ron was our manager he also went with the long ball as well as playing it on the ground, which again got the best out of the team he had.
As has been said, the game now is all about money, and if you want to stay in the money, then avoiding relegation is your continual goal and most managers now will do whatever they feel is neccessary to make sure that stays the case!! On the flip side, most pundits never thought they would see a team managed by Sam Allardyce play good football, but currently that is what he is doing at West Ham!!

We haven't played attractive, winning football in decades. Mowbrays tippt tappy stuff aside (even that failed in the PL).
People ranting about style of play under Pulis....when exactly has it been good to watch lately. I must of missed it!

I agree again, JH. What has been so good since Woy left? I know a group of folks who hadn't missed a match, home or away, since I got to know them in the SGM days. They had become so dispirited and bored by the performances post-Roy that they have stopped doing the aways. That might not sound much but it said a lot to me.
Let's give TP a chance and all pull together like he asks. I don't care if we become hated as long as we get points on the board. I've seen some bostin' Albion sides playing great football and I'd love to see it again. Meanwhile, I want our team to not be a soft touch, to win matches and stay in the Prem, one way or another.
I'm proud of our achievements since the over the last twelve years or so, both on and off the field. Under the current English football circumstances, retaining a Premiership place is the most important thing for a club like us and, it has to be accepted, might be the best we can hope for.

I'm bored with Pulis' PTB hoof ball already JH.
Oh for the not so long ago Uncle Roy days and when we finished 8th with exciting attacking football. Sadly, it will be a long time before we see those exciting days back at The Hawthorns. Solution ? Take a good book.

I'm not so sure about this, Baggieman. I seem to remember lots of very defensive, boring football under Roy with endless articles on here and other forums ranting about his insistance on the 'old fashioned' 4-4-2. We seem to have forgotton that Roys home record was absolutely shocking having lost 10 times the season he was here. Our points came from away games where we shut up shop and broke well.
Time seems to have clouded our view on Stevie Clarke. A good 1st half of the season where, we could say, we played our best football for years followed by one of the worst, only winning a further twice and 'got away with' 8th due to clubs just below us having mares i.e. Swansea. Clarke went on to record 5 (?) wins in a calender year.
We followed this up with Msr Mel........ ... and the rest is history!

Like many others - I'm willing to give Pulis a chance but hope in return he gives me entertaining football - something he hasn't delivered yet! I'm fully aware that anything to do with 'change' takes time and patience (not easy to achieve). However, I sincerely hope the future will be brighter and it won't be long before I can look forward to watching our team play with confidence, skill and the desire to fight for the ball and win games.
