England v Scotland
friday 18th june.
Anyone interested, my mate Dave in leeds has 2 tickets for a corporate box at Wembley next friday for the England v Scotland game. He paid £270 each for them but did'nt realise when he bought them that it was going to be the same day as his covid 19 postponed wedding. if you are interested he is looking for someone to take his place. It's at the Quebecs, 5 star hotel in leeds at 6pm, the brides name is Michelle she's 5ft 6in about 8 stone, very pretty, she's a fulltime accountant and really good cook. Anyone interested let me know and i'll ring him.

I would not have wanted to play knowing my team mate had just been returned from a dark place, these selfish football bodies have no compassion. Get well Christian my thoughts are with you and your family.

The truth's starting to emerge on this. Predictably, for all the talk on the night of Denmark players being happy to carry on as normal, it turns out they were actually given an ultimatum by UEFA to finish the match then or at noon the following day. Because most of them felt they were in for a sleepless night one way or another, they thought playing immediately was the lesser of two evils. They should have put their foot down and demanded a total rescheduling or abandonment, because it was utterly callous to demand that they continue in the circumstances. UEFA deserve a world of flak for this.

Another situation similar to Pereira - apparently signing a contract then not thinking of honouring it - is Harry Kane. Just read he's only HALF WAY through a 6 year contract! FFS!

Not a great football fan but all this nonsense over Messi blarting about leaving Barcelona. My understanding is that they really couldn't afford his wages forcing him to leave . Perhaps the multi~multi millionaire could have stayed and just received his sponsorship(s) deals and other incomes from outside the clubs finances and forgoing his wages. Surely he doesn't need the money and no doubt his financial future is more than secure. Don't know if I'm missing something and this isn't really possible but Messi surely could have stayed .

I don't doubt that he's probably got enough money to last several lifetimes, even allowing for the lifestyle that the wealthy tend to adopt. But in fairness to him, he also funds UNICEF, has his own children's charity providing access to education, healthcare and sport for the disadvantaged, has supported Medicin Sans Frontieres and Covid vaccine research, and in addition to taking a voluntary pay cut during the pandemic, paid the salaries of many of Barcelona's backroom staff out of his own pocket. If a percentage of his wages are going to causes like that, I find it hard to begrudge him a penny of them. Besides which, what obligation does he have to Barcelona beyond the twenty years of his career he's already given them and the countless trophies won?

As if VAR hasn`t got enough problems.......

Referees could offer in-game explanations of key decisions from as early as next season under plans being proposed by the Premier League, with AUTOMATIC offside calls also in development. (Telegraph - subscription required)

What a tragic story.
I can't say I remember even hearing about this at the time.

That's quite shocking. I don't remember it either, but I don't think we heard nearly as much about foreign football in those days.
