I know we were never going to win that competition and I appreciate the league is our priority, but I feel that was a big mistake tonight. That was a slaughter, we played completely inexperienced youngsters against an international attack with a high level that basically said “score when you want”. I hear people saying it was a learning experience so I’d really like to know what we learned because I saw no positives from that game.

Bad night for the youngsters, not much more to do but draw a line under it and move on. Push comes to shove, it's been thirty years since a team outside the top flight last won a major cup, and Championship clubs who field their first team for these ties go on to lose their next league match more often than not. I'll gladly get angry when we do stuff like this as a Prem side with an actual hope in hell of reaching the final, but in this division there's just no point.
On the subject of winning stuff, it was a telling sign of how crap Arsenal have been of late that their fans celebrated their £200m+ international-quality attack beating our teenage third team as if they were bossing the Champions League final. It's not often I end up feeling sorry for a team hammering us, but there's something so cringe about that kind of insecurity and small-time mentality from a club that's actually won stuff in the semi-recent past. God help them if they don't manage a top four finish soon, they'll be singing Piers Morgan's name if he scores past a toddler in the park.

These cup games should be free admission.
Charging to see a game where you can't be bothered is a joke.

Again, some good posts above, not agreeing but showing very valid points of view.
For what it's worth, l feel that the 'bigger picture' is even more important than ever atm, what with the main squad down by quite a few with injury and Covid, so although t'was disappointing, I can see why a very young/inexperienced team was selected.
Great to hear that their attitude, and in a lot of ways, their skill, didn't let them down against a really strong, basically international team.
As for Zohore, sounds like that's gotta be his last appearance in an Albion shirt
