Sam Field sold to QPR Was he so bad? I'd have thought now is the time to turn to our academy? Which seems to me to be a training ground for other teams to poach from?

Is this the thread for the final game? Lots of interest, then!
Allardyce going out in shame with this selection. Just don't understand why he'd do that.

I will miss Gallagher though my MOM for the last two games. (23-05-2021, 17:55)Baggievicar Wrote: Is this the thread for the final game? Lots of interest, then! Pitiful no one really wanted it except perhaps Phillips and Gallagher, at least we still have some Championship players. Is it about time to offer HRK a new contract?

Thank God that's over.
WE are very poor. I would say "roll on next season" but until we get an awful lot sorted out, I'll remain pretty pessimistic about things in the short term.... and that really isn't like me.

Well thank God this shite season is over.
Not too many who can hold their heads high, probably just Johnston to be honest and possibly Pereira. Major overhaul needed right from the very top. Owner needs to do one sooner rather than later, we need to appoint a good forward thinking HC as soon as possible, and clear out the dead wood. I dont see (nor particularly want) an immediate return to the greed league, unless we get lucky with a new owner like Leicester did. As for the team next season, who knows. Most of the current squad will be gone and those who remain are hardly going to set the championship alight. We do have a promising young keeper to come in, and Furlong, Townsend, Bartley and Ajayi should be a solid and capable back four in the championship (if they all stay), but midfield and attack will have to be a complete rebuild from scratch as most are on loan or will be sold. The new manager is really going to have his work cut out just to stop us going into freefall through the leagues and will need serious backing from the board.

I agree with Drewks and Baggietrousers. I think our squad this year has been very poor and the few shining lights - or flickering bulbs - will be gone in the summer. I fear we will be left with a lot of very average players, even by Championship standards. For those TV and Press pundits who declare that any incoming manager will have a strong squad to work with, I suggest they watch all this season’s matches and then revise their opinion. Based upon what will remain and the owner’s reluctance to invest in players, our squad will not be sufficiently competitive to challenge for promotion. This summer’s recruitment, such as it is, will be critical.
Still, in all this gloom, we shouldn’t forget that “we’ve got Kanu, Robson-Kanu, I just don’t think you understand”. Give that man a one year contract ![]()

Same old same old really...
Had plenty of really good openings and opportunities. But we had nothing up front and gave them goals at the back. Johnstone probably took £10m off his value with today's performance, and we really could've done without that. Yokuslu was at fault for their 1st and 3rd, yet was still our best player as he was the only player who could pass straight. Some of the others seem to have put their contact lenses in the wrong eyes. All in all, the result flattered Leeds, but we only have ourselves to blame for giving them 3 goals. But we're used to it now. Big rebuild needed, but where do we even start...
