SUPER TWELVE? YES, SUICIDE IS PAINLESS!
#1
Suicide is painless, it brings on many changes, that's how the lyric goes isn't it?

Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, Chelski and the Arse join a Euro-suicide-pact. BRING IT ON!

To play football in the England a club has to be registered with a recognised Football Association. That's a has to be.

So let them set up their outside competition. DO it, do it, do it! Then ban the clubs concerned, as you would a player who punches the ref', sine die.

At that point the registration of players at the clubs concerned is no longer recognised by any FA, or their clubs. The contracts those players signed must surely become null and void, because they must contain clauses containing references to playing football and what their clubs have signed up for won't be recognised as professional football ............ So there will be little need to ban those players individually as they will become free agents in the eyes of every club outside the twelve; Rashford goes to PSG to link up with Neymar and Mbappe, Mane crosses the park to Everton, de Bruyne decides WBA would be a nice challenge.

If these clubs have no status then you need only enforce a ban on players, who later decide to join them. They will therefore have little or no youth programme and will suffer from declining on-field standards as players who stayed loyal simply age and Man City v Juventus becomes a predictable bore.

Better still these clubs will be removed from their leagues. So Six teams will be promoted from the Championship to the Premier, and so on down the tiers. So, yes the six best Non-league teams will be invited back into the EFL. And if we sign a centre forward to replace poor old Asante, Chesterfield just might be one of them.

And five years down the line FC United of Manchester will, be trotting out at Old Trafford in EFL 2, having won the National League and City of Liverpool will be preparing to move back into a deserted Anfield to start their new National League campaign.

Dev, nice thoughts but......... Money makes the game go round, the game go round, the game go round.
There is no way Sky TV, BT et all, will allow the FA to kick them out having agreed to pay millions for screening rights. I hope they do kick them out but Murdoch hasn't waded in yet. A contract breach will cost him a lot more than the new TV rights will make him. There's 12 months left on the existing contract.

The point is Dev, it's all about money. You've got 2 teams City and Chelsea who don't even need the competition as they don't need the money but somehow they've signed up anyway. 6-7 of those teams out the 12 are in so much debt yet they keep paying top wages and massive transfer fees.

Back in 1992 the 20 teams fucked over the Football League by creating the Premier League and now the Premier League and Sky are angry because they are now getting fucked over by the 'big six'. What did they expect? They invited the millionaires and billionaires and corporate investors to take over the beautiful game and what have they done they have served their own xxxx interests.

This has happened because of the Premier League and because of TV deals and revenue and greed. They have created monsters, monsters which are owned by foreign owners who don't understand the game, traditions, they don't understand the football pyramid or the concept of promotion and relegation or even what the offside rule is and these people believe they can set up and organise and run their own competition which is closed off from everyone else because they want to create an American model which is attractive to fans in America, India, China etc etc.

Let's be real here though the FA, Premier League, UEFA, FIFA, the Football League and the National League aren't the good guys here, there are bad guys and bad guys.

I have to disagree a bit. The PL was created so that the top division could do its own deals with TV, and sure that has had a profound effect on football in the UK. But it still allowed the integrity of competition and kept the relegation and promotion intact to allow other clubs to still dream of their day in the sun. Since the creating of the PL only two teams outside the top 6 have won it - Blackburn and Leicester, but in the 28 years prior to the PL only 5 other teams outside the top 6 won the title, albeit over 9 seasons. Since the 1970s Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal had dominated the title winning. For me the changes to the European Cup are just as much to blame, allowing the top 4 to qualify for the CL has seen the creation of a breakaway of clubs at the top - the now so called 6 - who share these 4 CL places and the money that goes with it among themselves. This has created a mini-league at the top that is very hard to break into for any other club. You are right, all the football bodies have made decisions that have precipitated this situation.

The TV revenue has ruined the game and it's favoured the 'big six' clubs. I agree with you about the Champions League, I prefer the original format of the European cup and Cup winners cup.

The whole Super League is falling like a house of cards.

The tv revenue has been brilliant for the PL, the problem is the affect it has had on the rest of the pyramid.

It has but we need to remember football isn't a TV show it's a sport. With all the money a wash in the Premier League you would think that clubs would lower ticket prices for fans and make it more affordable. The money that teams in the Premier League now get from gate receipts is only a small percent when you compare it to sponsorship and TV deals. As for the rest of the pyramid they get the crumbs off the table of the Premier League with this trickle down effect which doesn't work.

A lot of these owners and people who run the game don't understand the game, they see things through numbers on spreadsheets and graphs. Fans need to have more of a say in how the game is run and how clubs are run because football belongs to everybody not just the selected few.
